We know it's after Labor Day, but that doesn't seem to be stopping RIM from rolling out a couple BlackBerrys in bright white this season -- and who are we to accuse Waterloo of a fashion faux-pas? First up, the Curve
8520 on T-Mobile is now available, complementing the black and "frost" versions that have already landed; perhaps more interesting, though, is direct confirmation from RIM that there'll be a white version Bold hitting AT&T in mid-October. With the
Bold 2 seemingly around the corner, recoloring the current model seems like an odd move -- but if they can continue to sell the Bold at a moderate discount
a la iPhone 3G / 3GS, there might yet be a strategy there. The version RIM had on hand wasn't AT&T-branded, but... you know, just imagine the silkscreened logo and customized wallpaper, and you'll get the idea.
I think it looks pretty nice, not my thing, but still
Its bad enough that the white trackball gets dirty, cause, well, it's white. Adding a white keyboard and white plastic will likely make the whole device look grungy within 6 months. gg RIM, gg.
his rim got bleached.
Wish BB would make add a touch screen to their line up that have real keyboards
Terrible E71 ripoff!
is this Nokla? LOL
everything you see in that pic PLASTIC. LOL
helloo sexyyy
hmm i don't like the white keyboard. reminds me to the ancient nokias with the exchangeable semi-transparent keyboards which really had this cheap look...
Can we come up with something a little more creative than Bold and Curve? God I hate phone names sometimes.
Just be happy it's not called Pixi
would you prefer something that has a prefix of "i" and a suffix that describes the device?
or perhaps, phone makers should learn from expensive car brands, and start naming them a random letter and a number denoting the cylinde, errr, horsepow, errr processing speed.
DHRUV
You forgot to include BMW in that statement; they use random numbers. I still think it makes more sense than a name like "malibu" or "taurus".
Please don't take the Lord's name in vain.
I might try to get that gold (brass?) OEM bezel for my Bold once that phone is out, but I dislike the white.
Umm, what? You're seeing lights reflecting on the same silver plastic bezel as on your black bold.
Curses, foiled again by that blasted incandescent light.
Well then, no bezel for me.
it was on ellen yesterday as the giveaway prize..................
I didnt know men watched that show....
I should show this to my friend, she just paid to have someone redo her bold completely white.
ghetto
White curve disgusting, white Bold descent
The white Bold "goes down" ? Hmmm...
I'm digging the crack cocaine white!
UCF represent
the back would get so dirty .
I like it - specially the backlight keyboard.... Ice ice blackberry.... Ice ice blackberry.... Ice ice blackberry....
more like " ice ice berry"
I like it. it looks cool. I wouldn't worry about it getting dirty really depending on how diligent you are with keeping it in a holder when not in use.
Yawns*
I am a blackberry fan boy, but wow, how exciting a curve and a bold. whoopy
Not a fan. I don't like white electronics. My phone is a fashion accessory. lol
I think the white is rather stunning, looks way nicer than white iPhones for certain.
did anyone else notice the 'love stains' on the sheet the BBs were being showcased on?
What's with that backlit keyboard? How many engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
i supposed the one without the carrier logo is the bold for att? or unlocked version?
RIM phones are beginning to look very outdated.
Not to carp on the photography again, but wouldn't a proper white balance adjustment (that makes the white phone look white and not tan) have helped?
Yuck.
Looks like the White version of Nokia e71
