Samsung Galaxy i7500 pops up unlocked on Newegg
Sorry, subsidy fans, Samsung's Galaxy i7500 still isn't be offered by any carriers, but if you're jonesing, a listing for the Android-enhanced handset has made its way unlocked onto Newegg's website. It's got quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS, it theoretically should work on T-Mobile's 3G network, one of the few we can recall -- either way you'll still have GSM support for T-Mo and AT&T. Entry fee will be a Lincoln coin under $590; mum's the word on ship date, but now that the groundwork's been laid out, at least we know it's an inevitability.

honestly i'd go for it if i had the money. best android phone made so far.
Be patient young grasshopper. For the earlier posts of engadget speak of many future android devices with stronger processor's, carrier subsidies, better UI's, and tons of awesomeness. Never pay $590 settle for 528mhz. Patience.
Those are too expensive.
Agreed. That same phone costs $550 unlocked in Australia. That's about $500 for you yanks.
fgarskj;
just bought an xperia x1
this is like the same price
fffff-
The only downside to this phone is the 128mb of RAM, otherwise this would be my next tmobile phone.
This wouldn't work on AT&T 3g, correct?
No. Only AT&T Edge
people, what you rather have, this or tmos version of the galaxy, the behold II?
Argh no it still isn't be offered!
"still isn't be offered by any carriers"
seriously? on the first sentence?
Cost too much, throw in an att 3g radio and we have a deal
Throw in 850MHZ UMTS and I might even think about it. Until then? No
You guys in the USA get ripped... Its only $549 AUD, unlocked in AUS!!

Aus version doesn't have UMTS 1700 so it wouldn't be able to use T-mobile 3G.
This phone has been available unlocked on eBay for a while now, and it doesn't work with T-Mobile US 3G bands. It'll only work as a EDGE phone on US GSM networks. The 3G frequencies are not exactly the same. The "coming soon" T-mobile Samsung Behold 2 is the US version of the Samsung Galaxy with compatible US 3G bands.
You are incorrect. I own this device, purchased it from Ebay - Germany unlocked and have been happily using it with T-Mo 3g for the last month.
@Rob S.
Thanks for the info! I'm glad I'm wrong on this. It's been hard trying to find a clear answer. All the sellers I inquire from and forums I've read have told me otherwise.
Awesome you saved 10 dollars with newegg! now its only 589 dollars!
I checked out the specs of this phone. n900 beats the specs. I still vote for NOKIA N900. N900 FTW!
This is a terrible post. The Samsung i7500 has been avaliable online unlocked since july. Who cares that it's on newegg. Engadget is terrible.
if it does not work on tmobile 3g i guess it is a reason to return this without penalty since they clearly listed it has u.s. tmobile 3g and no att 3g.
Compaitable Carrier & Service AT&T, T-Mobile, T-Mobile 3G, Rogers, Fido
I think everyone else can agree that you're an idiot.
Yes, the iPhone is SO much a better deal.

"still isn't be offered"
No-one at Engadget has heard of proof reading even though plently of us have been telling you about it.
am i the only one to notice where it says "from factor" it is meant to say "FORM factor"...?
600$? that's not worth that...
128 MB of RAM?
FAIL
Maybe i've misunderstood, but the i7500 'Galaxy' is available on O2 in the UK...
-This phone works FINE on T-Mo USA 3G network
-The RAM is higher than 128, it's actually 192, although some sites have it wrong
-Phone has been on sale on USA websites for over a month, even cheaper, so this news is a bit old...
this phone is not working with T-Mo USA 3G. I bought mine in Germany and the phone itself works fine but not the 3G. I would love to get it to work but it doesn't. Also T-Mo support can't help
