Tesla Roadster Sport gets taken for a test drive, photo shoot

Like the Tesla Roadster but think it's just not expensive enough for you? Then fear not, person we'd like to get to know, 'cause the Tesla Roadster Sport is here complete with a $19,500 premium over its less sporty counterpart. Thankfully, according to the lucky folks at Autoblog Green, you will get quite a few bonuses for that extra cash, including an improved 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds, a new suspension that can be set to one of ten different settings and, perhaps most importantly, a new set of black-finish forged wheels (paired with some Yokohama ADVAN A048 tires) that'll ensure no one mistakes it for a "low end" Tesla. Be sure to hit up the read link below for Autoblog Green's full report, not to mention plenty of pics inside and out.

It's always the Apple-hating assholes that bring Macs into non-Mac discussions.
I love macs. I am using a macbook right now. I have an iPod touch, and I would have an iPhone if it wasn't so expensive for the monthly plan.
Are the batteries included?
Instead of the government investing taxpayers money into GM they should've been investing it into tesla.
Yeah, that's what the government should do. Take our tax money and give it a company that makes a $100,000.00+ electric sports car, which can be driven for 2 hours, that only about 10% of the US can afford.
That sure sounds like a great plan. Why aren't you a congressman already?
I 100% agree with Marc. GM should have had the epic fail it deserved. Since when is a company too large to fail . Well guess what, It failed. but GM went crying to mommy Gov't for its safety net. If Tesla got even half of the bailout that GM receieved, The Tesla S might already be available for purchase and a sub $25 grand car might alrady have been announced. Itll happen soon.
Get different wheels then. It isn't a mac, you can change things on a car you don't like really easily.
you know, you should post this comment like five times in the same thread.
Once the battery technology catches up, I'll invest into an electric car.
but if people like yourself dont invest now in it then the technology would take forever to catch up.
Chicken or the Egg
I completely agree -- we need more chicken investors! I'm tired of all this egg technology I keep reading about.
What infrastructure exactly is needed for an electric car? batteries, the bits connecting it to the engine, and a plug. At the very least sort out the battery issue first. Sticking a ton of laptop batteries in a car is impractical. It's not even close to suitable mainstream. It's barely adequate for a laptop let alone a car. As soon as batteries weigh much less, don't decrease in life after just a few years of use, and take less time to recharge then it'll start getting interesting. Who wants to spend several thousand replacing all the batteries in a car every few years! The Tesla is hardly impressive either. They cherry picked an Elise chassis, which is the size of a shoebox, stuck a ton of heavy laptop batteries inside and contracted Lotus UK to make them. It's good for making wealthy people go fast in a straight line and that's about all. Even as a sports car it fails - on a track going around corners it handles like you've got a ton of breeze blocks in the back seat.
Word.
Ugly... impractical. *poof*

Bugatti Veyron please.
Bugatti Veyron = $1.7 million
Tesla Roadster Sport = $120,000
Ill take the Tesla any day. No point in having a million dollar car if chances are it'll get royally stolen, and all that horse power for what? you Really don't need all that horsepower realistically. Unless you are heavy in motorsports such as circuit racing or another form.
Just think, If you can afford a Viper then you can afford a Tesla.
Because there just aren't enough $125,500 sport cars coming off the assembly line looking like they're missing the hubcaps.
It is a crime that the US has not done a Manhattan Project type thing for developing a whole electric / hydrogen car industry here.
Ugly wheels.
dont like the tail lights at all, looks like the eclipse tailend
