I am just curious as to why anyone would go and buy this right away, when Verizon customers have strong evidence that Verizon is getting two Android phones before black Friday, and possibly the Palm Pre in January 2010?
Granted, my view of the blackberry storm II is kind of biased due to the first Storm, but Verizon looks like it is going to be getting some really cool (non-blackberry) phones in the near future. I am a Verizon customer (have been all of my life), and personally, I have no interest in getting any Blackberry Storm. I would rather take one of the non-touchscreen blackberry's over the current Storm.
Anyway, I hope this is a cool phone, because it will just add to the Verizon lineup, which hopefully will be getting a major upgrade in the next few months. Verizon really does need some cool smartphones.

My fingers are too big for a standard blackberry keyboard to be convenient, so a standard Blackberry keyboard was never really an option for me.
Main reason is because Android and BBOS are two VERY different environments. I'm a previous BB Storm and Javelin owner, and a current HTC Magic owner. The Storm was flawed, but had the best touchscreen keyboard I've ever used, and I'm consistently frustrated with the Magic's keyboard. Android has a lot of polish and is a very consumer-oriented OS, but at this stage at least it's not the one for me. Once the Storm 2 is available, I will be switching back.

I would normally hate on Quantum, but I've now gave up my denial of the Storm being a fail.
Will this skin work with the Blackberry Storm 1? I'm not sure if they changed the form factor from Blackberry Storm 1 to 2?
The form is slightly modifed, but probably not eough that you couldn't make it work. It might not fit perfectly though
its just a regular silicone skin... they have tons of those for the storm 1 already, so to get this for a storm 1 doesnt really make since...

So when the next iphone comes out with 1MB more of ram 1MP more on the camera and 0.1Mhz more processor im sure u will yell till your lungs explode.
personally i think the iphone is underpowered, just so apple can put a little (tiny) bit in it and call it the greatest thing of the centry.
Wheres HTC HD2 is gonna be with 488MB of RAM 1GHz CPU, etc
now just STFU about it. I own an iphone and its not the greatest thing ever.

P.S. 3G to 3GS wasnt much of an upgrade - should of done Video recording at start, and a better camera.

The slider keyboards suck. All of them. Plus they make the phone too thick. A good onscreen keyboard is as good or better than a physical keyboard. Ask anyone who has used one.

first comment here on engadget, but PBB is an asshat if he thinks a mercedes e/s550 is the best car under 100k. I can rattle off so many cars I'd rather have that are 'better'. Plus, no one that really enjoys driving gets a mercedes...they don't make a manual transmission car that's worth driving these days. Jump in a BMW bud.
I can't wait until one of the phone manufacturers makes the mistake of naming their phone Fore, for obvious accessory reasons.
The Storm 2 actually looks pretty good. Considering the first model was basically beta hardware and software. I don't know that I would give up my iPhone for it but a Storm 2 on Verizon would probably be an excellent device within the limitations of the OS. A better browser is needed and they ability to use more than 256MB of ram for apps or at least run apps from a storage card. Even Palm has been able to do the latter for years. I expect the Storm 2 and other new BB's to compete with Android more than the iPhone though.
