Cables To Go Wireless USB Superbooster Extender might be as awesome as it sounds
We're not claiming to be experts on marketing or anything, but Cables To Go should really consider a name change. The outfit who's job it is to make your life one that's completely devoid of cables has pumped out yet another cord-free solution in the Wireless USB Superbooster Extender. Said device, which has an admittedly sensational name, is comprised of two pieces: a receiver that connects to your USB-equipped PC via a standard USB cable and a wireless dongle that connects to whatever USB device you'd like to make wireless (a printer, a scanner, a heated blanket, whatever). The kit provides cordless connectivity up to 150 feet (even through walls), though you'll be paying dearly to take advantage. How dearly? $189.99 -- yeah, that dearly.[Via PC Launches]

If it comes with more than one wireless "dongle", might be a good deal.
surely you could also 'extend' a USB hub, so have 4 or more USB devices....?
not a bad idea, but too expensive.
Wireless charging by USB?
Life is good.
I very much doubt it.
Your life is a lie.
Thats way too friggin' "dearly"!
Shouldn't the "who's" on the second line be "whose"?
Your article has it backwards. The dongle is for the PC side. The adapter box with power supply is on the device side.
Yup! This article seems to have been written too fast. Dongle goes into computer. Clunky receiver has a power cable (and transformer).
Maybe they should change their company name to Cables No go?
unique idea, but i think it would be nice if it has 3 different price option, which makes 3 different models. The intro price is too expensive. Maybe after another product will comes out with the same idea, only a lot cheaper.
I believe the description in this post is incorrect.. Actually the dongle connects to the PC as the receiver.
Perhaps the company name is in the future indicative tense, as in a news headline:
"Vendor to specialize in wireless devices; cables to go"
(Grammar police, I throw myself on the mercy of the law.)
Does this companies marketing department live in the same world as me, doesn't appear so? I guess they don't know that we're in a serious recession / depression, or else they might have considered a much lower price point. I can't buy 1/2 of what i see on engadget anymore. Almost every product reviewed is way to expensive for the times we're currently living in. I for one feel my money is better off in the bank until I see clear indicators that things are ok again, like unemployment below 5%. Unlike some here i refuse to live with my head in the sand.
I just looked into this a bit more as it would be useful to relocate a scanner and printer to the other side of the room without the need to run cables. The small print at the end states this... "Compliant with USB Specification 1.1."
