250GB PlayStation 3 Slim coming to US November 3rd

It's no Uncharted 2 bundle (hello, Europe), but US gamers will indeed be getting their own 250GB PlayStation 3 Slim bundle, due to hit stores on Novvember 3rd for $349.99, just one Ulysses S. Grant more than the 120GB model. No other difference beyond the storage capacity, and of course you can always swap out the 2.5-inch SATA drive yourself with warranty kept intact. Holding out for some limited edition artwork or PS2 compatibility? Keep on dreaming.
I can't see why I'd buy this over the 120GB. I'm handy with a screwdriver.
I guess if you want more than 120gb it works out slightly better. I just bought the 120gb about a week ago and just checked out the prices of 2.5" harddrives to consider if I wanted to keep mine or return it and get the upgraded one.
From what I'm seeing it looks like you can get up to a 160gb 2.5" drive for that $50....so if you were sure that you wanted to get the 250gb drive for your PS3, and you don't have anything else to do with the 120gb drive that comes with the current slim after you remove it, you're better off getting the 250gb system for the extra $50.
Of course if you have a use for the 120gb drive that comes with the PS3 after you replace it with a bigger one...it's better to do it that way.
Oh, it's only $50 more. You're right. For some reason I thought the PS3 Slim 120GB was $249.

Yes you will be able to upgrade the HDD on the 120 yourself but for $50 extra you can have it already done. although it is only 250GB it is still a good price considering 250GB and 320GB HDD's for PS3's can go for around the $75 to $100 range.

Be glad you waited - I'm weeping because of the amount of money I spent on a PS3 that has a pitifully sized harddrive. And it cost more than this one :(

Wow, you're an amazing mathematician! Try 130GB for $50, not 90GB.
A 250GB 2.5" harddrive costs upwards of $42(pricewatch), so an extra $8 isn't really a big deal.
Yes, maybe $8 isn't that big a deal, but I can use that old 120GB drive for my laptop or sell on ebay for an additional return.
@thevandal: True, but then I guess you're paying $30-$40 or so(after including the amount you'd be able to get on ebay) to not have to mess around with swapping out the hard drives. Actually rather reasonable I'd say. Now if it were $100 more it'd be a different story.

My ps3 collects dust fir gaming only use to blu ray.
I use the crap outta my 360 though.

For online gaming ps3 sucks in comparison to xboxlive.

this is the fastest HDD upgrade i ever seen...didnt it just came out like yesterday...next thing you know a 500GB PS3 slim bundled with God of War III will come out...thats when i come in and get a slim.
For $30-50 more (on top of the $249 price) you can get a 320gb hard drive and an external case to put your extra 120gb hard drive in... not worth the extra $50 in my opinion.

I bought a 320GB HDD for my laptop and put my 160GB from my laptop into my 60GB Zack Morris PS3.
I dont get why people downvoted the guy who said the PS3 costs $299 not $249 and upvoted the guy who was wrong?
i bought xbox360 for the cheap price factor at sainsburys about an year ago i hardly used the HDD. i have all my media collection on my server. i recently read the features of the ps3 and it blew me. remote play is what i was looking for in ages. i dont play games much but PS3+psp+playtv is the ultimate living room machine. but sadly the new playstations cant play psx games to remote play on psp :( but still im getting one damn soon

nice, but I'll still keep my original 60GB PS3 upgraded to a 250GB for $80 2 years ago.
