Memorex MyVideo pocket camcorders are content to fit the mold

Memorex has never exactly been one to go out on a limb with its consumer electronics, and it looks like that's especially true of its new MyVideo pocket camcorders, which the company itself doesn't even bother to go into much detail about in its press release -- other than that they'll let you "zoom in on life's moments before they zoom out," of course. A bit more digging turns up some expectedly standard specs, however, including 4GB of memory and an HDMI port on the MyVideo HD model and 2GB and no HDMI on the MyVideo VGA, along with a two-inch screen and the usual integrated USB connector on each. Then again, they do just cost $99.99 and $129.99, and seem like a prime candidate for discounts in the run up to the holiday season.

Nice design but I´d rather buy one with more memory.
Wow fail.
For $20 more dollars might a well get iPod nano with video. Dee Dee Dee
Last I looked the iPod nano didn't have and an HDMI port or recorded HD video, at $129 this looks like a good deal.
These things( flip, kodak, etc) are mainly for facebook, YouTube, Twitter etc. So HD is overkill anyway. There is no image stabilization on most of them and burning them to DVD is a pain. They also don't work that well in low light. In short , they are toys. Fun and useful toys, but still just a toy. If you want a camcorder for quality family videos or your kids sports events, then you need to get a real camcorder. Bur for the price , these are all good for online video blogging and social networking etc. This one looks as good as any of them. And I have tried them all.
Yes, like the Flip HD, Flip HD is a nice half-HD (720p) but without stabilizer is still a toy.
we got these in at my work (officemax) along with memorex blu-ray players, HDMI Cables, and a slew of other crap. Their just throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks.
Looks perfect for putting in high powered rockets. At $100 not much to lose in a crash.
Rocket? You mind as well grab Coby's Snapp Cam 3000, which goes at about $39.
