Samsung i5700 Galaxy Lite renamed Spica, spied and specced in Italy
At long last, some apparently definitive details on Samsung's i5700, the handset formerly known as Galaxy Lite and now reportedly called the Spica. Italian site Cellularmania has a pretty exhaustive hands-on gallery and a much-coveted list of specs for the lime green HSDPA Android vessel. We're looking at a 3-inch AMOLED screen with 384 x 240 resolution, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, 1500 mAh battery, accelerometer, GPS, FM radio... and yes, sad but unsurprising, it's soft-rocking a 528MHz Qualcomm processor. Unlike our last glimpse, there now seems to be that requisite Android home bottom on the right side of the lower panel, but no such luck for any trackball. We're also lacking price or release date details for any region, but at least for US enthusiasts, we're pretty confident that you shouldn't get your hopes up, given how the i7500 has been relegated stateside.

Or one of the brightest stars in the Northern Hemisphere, but hey, six of one, half dozen of the other...
Are the people who's building these Android phones the same people building all the netbooks with the same old out of date hardware. I just ask because I'm so tired of seeing phone after phone with the same small screen & Qualcomm processor, which we all know should at least been produced wiith a snapdragon processor & a 3.5" screen. When are these people going to learn what the USA customer really wants & needs to run apps efficiently.
My guess is that this is going to be a low-cost Android handset. Not everything has to be super high end; not everyone can afford that.
I totally agree about Snapdragon but I hope they stick with 3.2 inch screens. 3.5 inch screens just make the phone too freaking wide, it's not worth it. The iPhone feels HUGE in my hands even though it's super thin just because it's so damn wide.
The problem is that the average American consumer DOESN'T want that, or at least won't pay for it. We geeks are relegated to crappiness do to an unscrupulous majority :'''(.
Engadget posted an article by the AnandTech guy, that explained this.

Molto Bello. I like it as I like Macarroni and Cheese
This is the first phone I see with the Android Green Robot Logo ! That is way cool, I want that phone ! I
I'm thinking about making a custom MyTouch backplate to get the little green Android on my phone. It bums me out that they don't bother putting him on. Since Cupcake came out he's not even on the boot screen anymore.
price?
Free...
Most sites have been saying this has Samsungs 800MHZ processor, so what's up with that 528mhz doing there? I hope that it is not true.
I actually like the colors with the android logo on the front.
But hate the "528MHz Qualcomm processor" grrrr its garbage
What a cheap looking toy.
Samsung, I am disappointed.
You have moved to "Kyocera" status.
It's hideous, but it's just the colors.
Glad I´m not the only one who thinks that the extensive use of neon green cheapens the look.
Nickelodeon phone?
too bad it looks like a toy
Wow. People are complaining about a 528Mhz processor in a phone. Just yesterday we were all using 200Mhz and 400Mhz phones. If Andriod runs well on it, what's the big deal? BTW, the phone looks hot with the white and green. Def an interesting looking device. Doubt I'll see it here in the states though.
How does this differ from the i7500 we already have released here?
