too bad its a sh!!ty phone
hmm so will verizon's pre have any different features? i'm wondering if there will be some kinda hardware upgrade, like an expansion slot for sd cards.
i'm on verizon right now with a 3 line family plan and my 2 year is up at the end of this month so i'm thinking of switching over to sprint and getting the pre (i prefer pre over hero). but if verizon has an upgraded version then i MIGHT stick around. although i hate verizon's pricing plans and their limited use of features on the phones. i don't care about phone calls dropping because we don't make much of those anyway. i want texting and data for family and sprint beats the hell outta verizon for that in terms of pricing.
To be quite honest...
I think that you should wait a while longer.
I've used Sprint for years (at work) and in no way does it compare with my Verizon experience (so far).
The Pre is definitely a very nice device, but when coupled with Spint's service quality, it seems less appealing.
isn't service dependent on area though (and also the phone)? i live in nyc and a lot of my friends have sprint and they say it works fine.
I agree that service quality can depend on service area, but my iPhone had 'far fewer bars in far fewer places' than my Verizon HTC Imagio appears to have, especially here in Tahoe, where my iPhone was completely useless 90% of the time.
Note: My Imagio is now showing 3 healthy bars at the moment, whereas my iPhone (in the past) had none in the same area.
it won't be dated, and their will be a minor hardware update like we already see in newer versions of the Pre. My biggest grip with Android is it has taken a whole year for 2.0 to come and the updates before it haven't added that much. In 4 months Palm has released 2 big WebOS updates each with over 70 new features and 5 small updates fixing bugs are adding priority features. When you have a Pre it is exciting to get a new big update every 2 months... Just got 1 October 1st and alreafy rumors of 1.3 in early november. I am confident the Pre will do exceedingly well on Verizon. But I am also confident Android will do well on Verizon and I hope both OS's slowly push iPhone OS to extinction :)
I actually like the existence of multiple OS'es. One OS does something great, soon the other ones implement it. So they approach an end of being very similar, but innovation keeps them from being totally equal. That relationship will continue over time. Apple does something great, MS and Google follow, that becomes standard. Then Google does something great, and so on.
Have none of you people used a Pre? The screen and keyboard are both too small and the build quality feels poor, like something you would buy at Toys R Us.
Right not to mention verizon has not officially confirmed nor denied thr they will disable the wifi.
Yes I have used the Palm Pre phone for four months… my family owes two. The phone is awesome. The screen is beautiful and sharper than the iPhone. The keyboard is nice, I have a medium to large size hands and I can type effortlessly on the keys – mostly with no errors; you can feel a nice click when you press the keys. In four months of using the phone, I have not had a single scratch on the screen. But I take care of my phone; I always carry it in its beautiful Palm leather case. The phone itself comes with a 1 year warranty from Palm – this shows they have confidence in the quality of the phone. If you want, you can buy accidental damage warranty from Sprint – which I did not buy. I paid $200 for my phone, but now you can buy one for only $100. This phone is packed with incredible technology – both hardware and software.
Yup. Just like the iPhone was available on Verizon right when the first exclusivity contract ended last year, and the G1 is now available on Verizon, along with the dozen other phones Verizon claims they "will" have on their network within a year. They are just trying to steal the spotlight from the other carriers because they have none of the really good phones.
So, "Early next year.." probably means March, right?
This just in. I talked to vzw regional manager dustict 217. South la
He claims initial specs aren't in but nam(northamerucan) vestion CDMA non sprint will not have wifi.
Ok so a pre without wifi. In 2010. Question to vzw fanboys who will buy n lock 2 year term when after 2 years will become a dumbphone unless u continue to fork out $25 data plan. Anyone anyone.
Can u hear me now ?
not me if it is not the same or better than the sprint version no one will pick this puppy up especially with the smart phone line up they have coming
I don't know?
I need a new smart phone and my contract is up, and I have to go with verizon (network is better) so how can they say they are releasing 2 new smart phones in 2 months and still keep you waiting for the PRE
sweet.
While I really love my Sprint service, I really switched for the WebOS. Huzzah for the push of WebOS!
I have had a Pre on verizon for 2 months now.. Its not that hard to do. Anyone want one.. Email wmrussell@gmail.com
Not a smart move Verizon....seems like they are all but closing the door on getting the iphone.
too late = FAIL
And I heard they're getting the iPhone too ... but with all this "iDoesn't what does " advertising, why would they end up carrying it ?
