Actually there's a big controversy in Korea right now, over Mariah Carey's purported stealing of Korean pop group 2NE1's music (can be heard in her new single). Suprised iRiver went through with this..
That was made up and spread around by Perez. The two songs don't even sound the same. If there were a cause for concern, it would get more play on the blogs and TV shows. As for why they chose her, Asia loves her. It's one of many, many business deals she's had with an Asian company over the years.
