BlackBerry Storm 2 appears on Verizon pages
While we haven't seen iron-clad proof of an October 21 (read: tomorrow) launch date, all signs do point to something imminent. And this next item is due to make all of you Storm 2 chasers positively giddy: yes, Verizon has posted the definitive Flash demo for the handset. So hit the read link to 'ooh' and 'ahh' your way through 360 degrees of spine-tingling render -- just try not to get dizzy.

Is this why the Apple store is down?
Dear god, I hope you are trolling or that is the dumbest comment I've ever seen.
Its down because Apple sucks
FACT: All fruit companies shut down in unison. In addition to Apple and Blackberry, Fruit of The Loom is also closed today.
@sacapuntas: +1
In addition, reports suggest that Pinkberry is coming out with five new frozen yogurt flavors tomorrow. None include optical drives.
My BlueBerry still connects..yep.
Ill wait to see if this is worthy of trading my Tour back in but I have my doubts....I just cant give up the keyboard on my phone
Is that a 1G iPod? What's the point of comparing a 2001-product to a 2009 product?
And only 1G Post-It notes too,
What's the point of comparing a 2009 product to a deck of cards? size maybe?
Because if they compare it to a iPod of today like an iPod Touch it's twice as thick. :/
Actually its a 3rd Gen iPod, you can tell from the lack of physical buttons, it only had 4 touch sensitive pads above the non-moving scrollwheel that was adopted in the 2nd generation iPod.
I was kinda excited about the storm 2. After seeing BGR fawn over motorola droid, if I was in the market for a verizon smart phone i'd be looking for the droid.
I agree. It looks like a nice phone, but any buzz it would have had has gone Droid.
So what exactly is new to the Storm 2? I think the screen, all the software bugs, but besides that any other improvements?
Wifi, more RAM. That's about it.
I'd wait to hear where some of these glorious HTC handsets are going before committing to either the Storm 2 or Droid.
I too have been anxiously awaiting the Storm2, but after reading up on the Droid and its potential in the open source arena I think I might have changed my mine. However, if the Storm2 does have MiFi I might reconsider, not sure if that was a misprint or what from a few days ago.
Why can't they just announce the release date already?
Expected October 26th on Vodophone UK http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-phone/blackberry-storm2?WT_ref=INT-Hmpg-Lyr2-Pym-Phns-12
I really can't spell today =/
a blackberry without a keyboard unless the storm 2 has a on screen keyboard that is on par with a really one i don't see this being good at all
It's down because they're releasing new products.
Comment reply fail.
Not that many comments here! Must be because everyone is looking at what Apple might release. Sorry RIM.
Blackberry has basically managed to generate absolutely no hype whatsoever for this phone. With WinMo 6.5, WebOS, Iphone 3.0, and Android 2 all knocking on RIM's door, the only thing stopping a mass move would be a BES equivalent and carrier support. If Verizon/ATT get the Pre and palm continues improving their IT functionality, those things could start to really cut into RIM's market.
Every single Blackberry looks like an ancient POS compared to iphone and Android phones
Blackberries were hip two years ago. Now, blah!!!
I hate my Curve 8330. I'm ready to drive my car over it.
That's a juicy blackberry.
Retro iPod. High school flashbacks, lol.
Man, just about everyone is anti-storm here! Ive had one for about 7 months now and love it. And will be upgrading to storm 2 when it comes out. But hey whatever, to each his or her own!
No way in hell anyone could convince me to get another Storm. I am on my third Storm in 6 months after the first two locked up due to memory and cache issues causing catastrophic failure. And...when the thing is "working" I have a whole other list of reasons this thing is terrible. Good news though...I'm pretty sure I know exactly how my last two died so once Droid hits VZW it'll be time to download all of my favorite apps again and run this current Storm into the ground.
Verizon and Apple both suck. Why do we have to pay so much for a mandatory data plan if we just want to look cool with the Storm or iPhone?
You mean like both of your comments?
I was at a verizon training meeting yesterday (I'm a Best Buy employee) and the presenters kept skirting around the subject, although one let slide a simple "you should try to be great at selling the current Storm in the next week or so"
News from canada : http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/review/1558935/blackberry-storm2-9520
How trollific of you to say so, you turd.
Sorry i have made a mistake the link i psoted is from UK.
A related comparison based on wikipedia info:
Storm: 4.43 in (h) x 2.45 in (w) x 0.549 in (d) = 5.9585715 in^3 165 g (5.8 oz)
Droid: 4.56 in (h) x 2.4 in (w) x 0.54 in (d) = 5.90976 in^3 169 g (6.0 oz)
Iphone: 4.5 in (h) x 2.4 in (w) x 0.48 in (d) = 5.184 in^3 133 g (4.7 oz)
if its more stable then the first storm maybe worth picking up they would have to cut the price pretty low though storm 1 was an ok phone just a lil behind from other OS's they should have worked on improving the web browser to be on par with android, pre and iphone then they would have a better device
"3 tines" huh?
yes, i am ready for another fail ^
