HiPhone F320: 'a rotary phone and an iPod nano walk into a bar...'
With a name like HiPhone, it has to be good, right? Totally. The outfit famous for knocking off RIM's BlackBerry Storm in impressive fashion is back, this time with a psychedelic mishmash that could make even the most hardened soul chuckle once or twice. The F320 is -- as you can so clearly see above -- a terribly funny combination of iPod nano and rotary phone, and while we wouldn't trust the specifications for a minute, we're told that it's a dual-band GSM handset with a built-in multimedia player, FM tuner, camera, 2.6-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth. There's no mention of a price (unless you're willing to commit to buying a few hundred), but trust us, it's better that way.

what an f'ing mess. this is how all of gadgetland would look like if china didn't have real design and innovations to steal from someone else.
the color combination does suck but i guess its nice idea. n btw.. china isnt in control of whole of gadgetland.
I guarrantee if Apple built this it would sell like hotcakes. Especially if they could keep the cost down to $150 or less.
OMG, You can dial the stargate with that thing.
@OneLove
Then that would make this the perfect device for travel!
look more useful than my iphone...♫ du dun tis♫
The color of the device combined with the look of the dial had me thinking that this thing dispenses birth control pills...
How do you know it doesn't?
No, it just zaps you sterile.
And walks out with more functionality than the new gen ipods.
Wow... that screen... it's so... rich and colorful, and bright and contrasty and... seriously, PLEASE tell me the backlight is not on!
actually that's an AMOLED in the sunlight ;-)
Looks more like an ipod mini mixed with a rotary phone
hilarious.
I said I wanted nipples on notebooks, not on THIS!
Sorry, I know its bad but I actually like the design. Too bad it wasn't put out by a more reputable maker.
I dont think they did it in the bar, it's probably some where else...
Good grief
haha I think that's pretty cool. I would actually use that.
The triumphant return of the stylus.
Back in the 80s, stylii were of great importance. Found in the most sought after devices of the time, to use a stylus was to be cool.
Improvements in resistive screen technology meant that stylus use was steadily declining, but not at an alarming rate. Finally in the second half of the 2000s, the explosive growth of capacitive touch screens in devices dealt a fatal blow to stylus usage, now considered as "uncool" and "old style".
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Stylii are still among us, tucked away in some of the more professional phones and devices. Their ability to draw and write is what keeps them alive.
Considering the convenience of using fingers, it is unlikely stylii will ever be used full time again.
Also, I suck at writing this.
Nothing against the stylus, just seems silly on a device now. Probably makes sense considering the size of the screen here. Does this mean the device supports advanced features like monotouch?
@ 5 star dining experience, is it any wonder why you make whever it is you come from (my guess is either US or Britain, guess being the former) the most hated country in the world
apparently they're not hated enough for china to keep stealing from for the latest daily KIRF masterpiece.
i'm a canuck btw. and it doesn't take a genius to see china's gotten rich off of copying others and doing it on the cheap/cutting corners/"what quality assurance?" crafty i'll give em that.
Wherever*
...And the bartender says, "Hey, why the long face!"
Nothing wrong with getting ideas from other manufacturers, just need to do it...more discreetly.
nokia 3650
That was the first thing I thought of too ;)
Josh, I'mma let you finish, but my boy Darren had the best post title of all time. Of all time!
Thanks bro!
@rickjames04 theres an app for that
but this phone couldnt be possible without doing what they did with the iphone and making the back plastic. or in this case, all plastic
lol, someone photoshopped something similar when the iPhone rumors were still plenty.
before the iphone came out... duh
this is pretty much what I hoped the iPhone would be before we knew what the iPhone would look like. a candybar not unlike the nokia 6300, but in iPod Nano form, with integrated music player, not the super wide smartphone it ended up being.
this (HiPhone) looks cheap, but well produced (by apple), it would've been a cool phone IMO. The iPhone's a neat platform (the appstore is pretty awesome) but it's too big and not very pretty. I mean, it's slick, but a bit too bland, product-design-wise I mean (yeah yeah, flame away; I'm an Apple / iPod owner btw). I think it's time for a drastic design change. That Zune HD looks so shexy. Maybe something more angular like that?!
Yet another day of > 70 % apple ads on the front page...
It'll never work, because the dial goes the wrong way -- the numbers on a rotary phone go anti-clockwise.
i also like it, one of my fav kirf gadget, good work on this HiPhone!!
Price is showing as $99.99
