Though they've been floating around retail channels for a few weeks, Best Buy and Netflix have finally made official a partnership bringing streaming to the latest
Insignia Blu-ray players. The NS-BRDVD3 runs $179, while the NS-WBRDVD edition tosses in WiFi for $20 more, while they won't stream out of the box, a firmware update just made available should add all that Watch Instantly goodness. These two keep the (we'll be nice and call it plain) styling of earlier models, and likely live up to the family reputation of "basic Blu-ray playback at a bargain" reported on the
second generation of players. Of course, the BD-P1600 offers more features and a nicer reputation at about the same price, but Reward Zone members may want to think twice, with AVS Forum posters mentioning the NS-BRDVD3 can be had for just $99.99 through the 24th. Decisions, decisions.

Doubt an Insignia would even last an entire video stream...
Insignia's insignia should be a trash can.
insignia's insignia should be a trash can inside of a trash can
Why the Insignia hate?
I don't know much about their other consumer electronics, but I do know that they make at least one pair of really nice speakers for very cheap.

probably from being underpaid.
Any more?...
Hmm... I've been contemplating getting either a Roku box or a blu-ray player with Netflix for my bedroom. That coupon is real, I just printed it out. $100 for a Blu-ray player with Netflix is a compelling deal. Hopefully some reviews will come out pretty soon saying it doesn't suck and I swing by latter this week and pick one up.
Blu-ray is cool because then you can pay $15-30 per movie for a format that very likely won't exist in five years.
I spent that much as more than this player cost at the bar this weekend and I get all my blu-ray disks from Netflix, if I get a year of of Netflix streaming and blu-ray rentals from it I will consider it a deal.
This reply is actually for hexydes but Engadget won't let me reply to him(her). For what it's worth, for the rest of this week Best Buy is selling blu-ray movies for as little as $9.99. You can read more about it here: http://www.tvlampsnbulbs.com/2009/10/best-buy-offering-blu-ray-movies-for-under-10/
Next time you complain about something.....it might help to do a little bit of research first.
Several customers have reviewed the product on BestBuy.com. You can find them here. http://bit.ly/42npo9
Except you can't stream NetFlix to a PS3.
When TF is PS3 getting it?
Probably never, as it requires Microsoft's Silverlight.
@Mike Sylvester: Silverlight is only required for the Mac/Windows Netflix player, not for set-top boxes.
Netflix seems to be climbing in bed with MS. As the Xbox competes with the PS3, it'll be a long ass time before we see Netflix on the PS3 (without cheating with products like PlayOn).
Funny thing is while I find the Insignia players pretty bad they are much more reliable then the horrible Samsung BDP-1600, I used to work at Best Buy and we had those die all the time. I never shut the Insignia player off and it was working for over a year 24/7, I was shocked. Of course it could have just been that one model but I had a lot of 1600s die.
If they had the WiFi one for $100 I would jump the gun to get one.
"the NS-BRDVD3 can be had for just $99.99"
Wait...so you're telling me I can grab a Netflix streaming Blu-ray player for $100?
I've never had bad luck with Insignia; that's a damn tempting deal for me!
Viera Cast needs to add Netflix
You mean $200 more, assuming you get the Insignia for $100.
