MPIO V7 PMP hits October 26th, 2009, we struggle to contain ourselves

It's been a pretty long while since we heard anything from MPIO -- so this is certainly good news. The V7 -- a 3-inch PMP which will apparently boast a (possibly capacitive) touchscreen LCD, an accelerometer, and an FM radio, at a thickness in the neighborhood of 10.5mm. We also know that it'll come in both 4GB and 8GB varieties -- but specs beyond this are sadly absent. We'll see what else we can dig up for you, but look for it to run ₩129,000 for the 4GB model and ₩159,000 ($109 and $134, respectively) for the 8 when it launches on Korea on October 26th.

Cool Wat does it run?
Crysis, duh!
i was beng sarcastic!
what's so 'excited' about this? anything?
This company is still alive? Cool...I remember wanting an MPIO mp3 player back when iPod was still scratching its daddy's pants. They had awesome designs, form factors and at pretty reasonable prices. I never did buy one though, couldn't get it at local retailers but only through online purchase. I settled for a Sandisk e130 because it had an SD card slot on it. Too bad it could only use a capacity of 4GB though. I since "upgraded" 'er downgraded to a Creative Zen 8GB - this time the SDHC slot is not/will never be integrated. Why can't one company make a decent SDHC card based MP3 player with integrated music/file database? MPIO, are you listening? I would come full circle and buy it in a heart beat!
I doubt they would give you a database. MPIO players have typically eschewed ID3 databasing for file/folder structure. However, that does not mean they won't include it in the future (or this product).
@chaosdivine: You're describing something that exists long time ago: COWON D2 or its latest incarnation: COWON D2+. Which has integrated expandable memory supporting SD and SDHC upto 32 GB per card. The Creative Zen was created to defeated but it couldn't you know why? Because of this.
- 52 Hrs battery duration with audio.
- 10 Hrs. battery duration with video.
- The best sound around its price and higher-priced pleyers for a long time. (Yes, including iPods, Sonys, Creative's, Samsung's, Philips' and others). It still has a better sound with the latest model
- 2.5" touch screen with 16 million colors. Alot better than the iPod's 256,000 colors.
- Supports the following audio formats, mp3, ogg, wma, flac, wav, ape and audible audio books.
The true competitor to the Zune HD has arrived!
Ah, MPIO. My first DAP and my favorite DAP company for the longest time.
I absolutely loved the HD300 and HD400 when I had them. It has been forever since they pulled out of the US market, but they have had some interesting Korean market devices since then such as the V10 PMP and the MG300.
