Love how at the end of the interview they Don't wana talk about Windows 7 because theres "to much to talk about, not enough time to cover anything" even tho its a Windows 7 LiveStream... so they move on to talk about apple and how much they love the new macs...

The whole "Windows is for business/games" and "Macs are great for multimedia" thing is just marketing and groupthink. There is far more multimedia production software for Windows, there is far more everything for Windows. OS X just runs a tiny subset of computer software, Windows is the superset.

The major problem I have with Apple fans is them telling everyone that Windows is so crappy and Macs are the best. I use Macintosh every once in a while and I will admit its a great OS. But the advantages (and disadvantages) are not that great to require an entire marketing campaign from Cupertino to constantly compare to OSX to Vista or 7. Why not take a page out of MS book and talk about what the OS can do instead of bashing the other company.

And BTW....anyone who saw the demo of those Windows 7 machines today (courtesy of WSJ) will agree that you don't have to go to OSX for performance, sexy and productivity. It all boils down to your style. If you like OSX go for it...if Windows is your thing then use it. But I challenge any Mac user to go for a year without benefiting from a Windows computer.........now if you'll escuse me....I have to install Windows 7 Professional on my Dell XPS 13...

Guys don't complain. I really doubt engadget has the resources to afford a quality broadcast. I really appreciate the effort they are making, I've seen this type of issues even with CNN, NYT and other big media companies. What I really see here is that they may have underestimated their show.

The talk at the end with the rest of engadget was better than the whole interview! Its as if Ballmer doesn't even know what is going on inside his own company.

His direction ideas are wrong, bing is money wasted.

winmo 6.5 is full of fail, its as if they know what people want but can't seem to deliver, I know they have smart guys there, but its as if management is preventing good ideas from coming out

Agreed about WinMo 6.5, but it's been obvious for the past few months that 6.5 is a stop gap.

Whether they can get 7 out soon enough to make a difference is another story. I'm sure Ballmer is playing the cards close when it comes to WM7, especially since 6.5 was just released.

I HOPE that 7 brings the promises suggested by the Zune HD, and the rumoured hardware specs...
