Sony Ericsson looking ready to come clean with Android-powered Rachael on November 3
It could be argued that Sony Ericsson owes the world some love after it built up its last event only to introduce a single, solitary A2DP headset, but we might finally get what's coming to us in just a few days' time. It looks like November 3 is the date SE has chosen to unleash the first volley in its Android strategy on the world, likely the XPERIA X3 (or X10, or whatever the heck they decide to call it) with that wild Rachael UI that we've been tracking for a few months. How do we know? Well, it does line up with the latest and greatest rumors -- but more importantly, digging into the event page's HTML source reveals several mentions of Rachael by name, so... yeah, that's pretty much a lock. Should the unannounced Dragon and Sholes / Droid both be shaking in their boots already?

It's about time. Android's really taking over.
I think the thick line of crappy android devices and decent android devices has been crossed.
what's that supposed to mean? (@first reply)
it means, we have gone over the hump of the first wave of devices that were not very good, and now the good stuff's coming in.
Rachel UI? I'd tap that
I guess Windows Mobile has gone to graveyard for good!
Ah Nokia, how lonely Symbian is.
@Briones
Another commenter that obviously blames WinMo, Zune or MS for their own inadequacies.
There is a distinct lack of variety or originality in your past comments.
man... who isnt making an Android device these days? loving all the support....
Apple :D
Before anyone says Microsoft: you can run Android on a Windows Phone.
Nokia
RIM....
McDonald's.
i wish SE would hurry up and announce this already, i think it could be the one phone that i could upgrade my iPhone from, i dont want to get locked into something like the hero when the X3 could just be round the corner..
That my friend is the cruel world of technology... :(
I know how you feel my man. I'm about to terminate my T-mo contract for the Droid and Verizon, but if this thing and the HTC Dragon are right around the corner with 1GHz processors, I should wait right? But the longer I wait, the more I die a little inside due to the slowness of my G1, overclocked and all.
LOL @ Sony / Sony Ericsson. How many times in the past few years have you had teasers promising something that could do everything but cure AIDS?
On GSMArena, an SE Xperia X10 brochure leak revealed some other interesting specifications.
Apparently, the phone will come with a 4.1" OLED display (capacitive touchscreen), 32Gb of internal memory with expandable memory slot and the Snapdragon processor (previously revealed).
Here's the link:

That is very very fake. There are glaring errors all through it including grammatical mistakes, missing spaces, non-corporate language, and it doesn't follow SE's new design style at all. You'll do well to ignore it.
Rachael??? Oy Vey, they could not come up with something Motorola like?
Rachel>Droid
It sounds like something that might try to take over the world.
How do you know, 10-minute hobo? Have you seen any specs released, or actually heard anything about this phone? Please reserve the judging until both phones are announced.
Rachel is not a phone, just the Android UI Sony Ericsson made. Like Touchflo3D and Sense UI by HTC.
Actually, my comment doesn't make sense then...
Is it me or its the logo looks like Fujitsu but backwards LOL~!?
Massive 16:9 OLED screen.
1 GHz proc with gpu
256 MB ram (and it isn't all being used up by the radio like with htc)
8 MP camera with flash...
Latest android...
Unless you absolutely need some physical keyboard you're wasting your time thinking about any other phone. This has it all. Hell, with the size of the screen and vibration feedback this could have a good enough on screen keyboard to win everyone over. And this cpu will slowly become standard and last for years like the 528 MHz ones did, so this phone won't be out of date performance wise for a good 3 years.
That's great, because knowing SE, it will take about 2 years till it reaches the market...
My only hesitation would be to see how fast LTE is rolled out over the next few years--who knows this phone could be obsolete if 4G rollout is faster than expected.
But let's face it, you'll have a new phone within a year anyway. No need for it to last.
sorry, no flash
In the United States, everything is changed after a year:
You change cars yearly, you change phones yearly, you change jobs yearly, you change wives yearly... heck even people change sex yearly :X
It would be cool to have phones that could be upgradable.
@wacko_javo - By the time this phone is actually released it's likely that Adobe will have released Flash Player 10.1 for Mobile Platforms!

This is gonna be a beastly phone; hopefully it makes it to the u.s. at a reasonable price, I want that snapdragon!
Hopefully it would be running Pancake too :D
The latest pics http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2009/10/24/new-sony-ericsson-xperia-x3-pictures/ hopefully it will have the Sony UI we saw before + Android 2.0
Can it make a great meal in 30 minutes?
Yes, but great android's meals are nto edible to humans. Unless you like you motor oil thick.
Come on Sony! Come on! Yay
Good Job, squad. Now let's take 5 and then we do a pyramid.
They are coming out by the boat load, could strike some sim free deals just before Christmas on the lower teir phones like the Acer A1
And... no one cares. LOL
I do care....I do care deeply. You have a good day sir. I said Good Day.
Crap Ziegler is a stupid Sony Ericsson fanboy who hates the dragon and the droid
PLEASE BE ON AT&T!!!
I'm sick of my iPhone...
I heard the iH1N1 is the next pandemic.... you better use gloves while using that iPhone !
I sure hope it will support T-Mobile USA's 3G frequency since they are pretty much encouraging buying phones from wherever you want.
It's Sony Ericsson so a) It will be expensive as hell and b) It likely won't be on any US carrier but our friends over the pond will get it free on contract =)
I agree and hope you're wrong. If it's soon to be announced, and still without a carrier, then it will mostly likely only be sold unlocked an arm and two legs. :(
i hope you're right! Q1 release slots in nicely with my 9 month free upgrade on vodafone ;)
I'm hoping Rachael lives up to our high expectations for the device - especially the speculative specifications and the user interface. I haven't looked forward to any new phone for ages (or rather I've looked forward to new phones only to be very disappointed when they eventually arrive). Lets hope it's as good as we anticipate and we don't have to wait 9 months for it to come out.
Great! I hope both this phone and the Acer Liquid have some firm release dates and carrier information within the next month. Currently I'm waiting on the Samsung Behold II to come out, but I would wait a little longer if it means getting the SE Rachael or the Acer Liquid. If either comes to T-Mobile before EOY, I will wait for them.
I like SE phones and if this is GSM it'll be up my alley. It'll probably be damned expensive unlocked though.
I'm in the same boat as you. Love my SE phones. Been holding onto my W910 for aaaaaaaaaages so that I can justify buying this once it comes out!
As a Sony Ericsson fan (if only because I'm a Sony fanboy) I am really looking forward to this phone. Have been since I heard about it. Let's hope that it lives up to expectations but so far, from what we know, the innards are sounding great and the design is VERY nice :)
Let's just hope SE decide to release it before the next decade is over though >.
a friend of mine u works with t mobile corporate side said they have another android phone coming out before the end of the year that hasnt been announced maybe this is it
Sony Ericsson, a "make believe"? Does this mean that the Android 2.0 X3 may not be real? What were they thinking?
Android, Rachael UI. Haha sweet blade runner reference Sony.
i think that its going to have standard android user interface :(
i hope that it's going to have standard android user interface :)
This is going to be my next phone, unless HTC pulls out a magic rabbit and comes out with a Droid2.0 toting handset right now.
i don't know about you lot but if it's the phone it looks to be then i'll be trading in my HTC Hero for the X3 ASAP
They changed the HTML source. The phone won't be named X3, X10 or Rachael. It has a new name: Infinity
Well... if the X2 is over $1000 at expansys... then X3 will be around $1400 ?? when it first releases...
$800-900 may be more like it.
You know what will be awesome? If they can make it play PSP and PS1 games. Make a Controller Accessory that is compatible not only PSP and PS1 games, but andriod games as well. Since this phone is obliviously more powerful than the PSP and GO. The mythical PSP phone would come true. Also it would be able to connect to the Playstation Store for games and movies and the Android market for apps.

Android 2.0 + SE UI experience = Christmas!
that logo... makes me think of last fm
