The TwitterPeek is... a Peek for Twitter?
Peek's never been one to shy away from the wacky and opportunistic marketing schemes but launching a whole product just for Twitter? That's courage, drive, and possibly a mental health issue. Yet here's the TwitterPeek -- what looks to be the same old Peek you know, love, and probably haven't purchased, stripped of its email and SMS functionality and re-oriented towards telling the entire world too much about your body and what you're doing to it every waking moment of the day. Now, to be fair, we're getting a distinctly strange feeling of phoniness about this whole thing, but there's already an Amazon listing and a picture of the box has already surfaced on -- where else? -- Twitter, so this could really be happening. Just think about that for a second. And then tweet about it, of course.

What I really don't understand is the fact that why they couldn't have just released say a firmware upgrade so users with a peek can tweet too.
And what about just using your text messaging plan? Twitter was designed for that purpose, why not use it.
um..... people need to not waste their money on this crap.
and developers hw and sw need to put their minds to better projects.
so i can pay 200 bux for this, or i can pay up to 4 dollars and get an iphone app just as good if not better than this..........hmmmm...tough choice...
or you could pay nothing.. not only are there free twitter apps (honestly, who the hell pays for a twitter app?) but people seem to forget that the damn iphone comes with a web browser.
This just in, Twitter apparently has a "web interface". Details at 11.
You forget the monthly costs of your iPhone. With this device, you pay $200 once, and never ever a cent more.
I agree that it's rather pointless for anyone already owning a smartphone, but I can see this being popular with the kids.
what I want to know is if this could be of value just from a service standpoint. I'm sure someone will hack this and let you use twitter as an interface for who knows what, and paying a one time fee for anytime, anywhere access could be really awesome. Then again, I don't know what other kinds of services/data plans that could compare to this to tell if it is a real value. Not to mention that "lifetime" might be more like .. well, however long the Twitter fad has left.
Insider info tells me this is going to be a big hit. I wonder how many people would go for this over the original twitter.com though. I made a poll just now - it'd be interesting to see how the numbers play out @ http://www.dipoll.com/?p=614
Anyone knows if works as fine as in US. as for Canada too.
