Lenovo teases new ThinkCentre all-in-one desktop
Lenovo isn't offering any more than this picture of its new ThinkCentre all-in-one desktop just yet, but it's already clear that it's not messing around with this one. How can we be so sure? It has a map of the world on it, and maps mean business. It also doesn't look like we have to wait too long to get the full story on it, as Lenovo is promising to make things official at the EDUCAUSE 09 conference early next month.

Cool! Now if they could just release a ThinkPad netbook, the trifecta would be complete.
This!!
I want a netbook with the eraser mouse. I hate track pads.
I think I saw this on ctf_2fort.
A thinkpad netbook sounds like a great idea, but Lenovo already makes oodles of money on off the X series, so I doubt they are planning it.
Are the thinkcentre's as reliable and awesome as the thinkpads?
I picked up the X301, it fulfills that role quite well!!
What's wrong with the X series and the S-10 and S-12????
This thing looks like a non-movile laptop with the kbd and screen/body separated.
Which is why all Thinkpads have maps on them, too.
That's definitely pretty nice looking. I wonder if it'll do anything awesome like use the same UltraBay modules that the ThinkPads have, or at the very least use desktop processors.
I can't wait for a W500 / W700 refresh with Nvidia hybrid graphics, LED screen, and 32nm Core i5 / Core i7 processor!
I'm digging this...
I would have gone with a pie-chart, that means 'super business oriented'

Preface - I am a diehard pc user.
Every pc manufacturer needs to take notice of the new iMac line. The new 27" w/ its massive resolution, optional quad core processor, multi-touch mouse, great esthetics, and more starting at $1699. I am hoping that Windows 7 will motivate pc makers to create better machines. If I could have one request it that they hire real designers, I am tired of ugly machines.
This ThinkCentre is to the iMac as Roseanne Barr is to Heidi Klum. It's teasing me in the way an annoying 10 year-old does just before I smack him with a baseball bat.
Hey, at least the ports are on the side, where I can actually see what I'm doing.
i can't just understand why these guys have to make an AIO with such an old processor? and still they want to compete with imac? well, imac is more expensive, though, ya ya, i got it, you get what you pay for..
Why would they care about the iMac?
its unclear at this point what processor will this thinktank hold. i5 or i7 would be nice. the new imac starts at $1700. if you want the i5 or i7 and other basics, like a decent hard drive etc...its well over $2500.
also the imac does not have an HDMI port which is a deal breaker for me.
the current think center line has a 23" screen and a BR player. I cant imagine this one would be any less.
I think it is the update of the Thinkpad X200 tablet PC as I see in http://www.battery4.us/
God that's so cool and stylish. I want it I want it I want it so bad. I mean look at the dots on the mouse and the blackness of the whole damn thing. Crapple could never be as dotty as that. Eat your heart out Crapple.
I dare any manufacturer to make an all-in-one desktop that looks as good as the iMac.
@AI.O.
they should, or we would not buy this crap.
@Haytham
it could be a deal breaker for me as well as imac does not have HDMI, however, you can buy an adapter (mini display to HDMI) to transfer the video to HDTV, etc as good as what HDMI direct would do. for audio, just use headphone port.
@tongueincheek
you are comparing this piece with imac? dude, you need to do some research before you make further comments. read the cnet and other reviews.
@DundunDuuuuun
ditto. not only the look, but also the performance where all these AIOs lack at in terms of performance when compared to imac.
Are you really comparing a $500 all in one aimed very very squarely at the enterprise market to a $1200 Apple all in one?
@Jarek
if you are talking about my comments, my answer is, "no, i'm not". 1st of all, this lenovo is not a $500 AIO, much more than that. 2ndly, i am comparing imac with sony AIO, dell AIO, and HP AIO and so on with equivalent specs (again, refer to cnet review) and you will see why imac is still ahead of competition in terms of aesthetics and performance.
if somebody can tell me good reasons like performance and convenience to buy any of these AIOs (other than low price through coupons, etc) ditching imac, i would not buy imac indeed this holiday season, LOL...
