Sony recalls 69,000 AC adapters due to shock hazard
Oh, Sony. You've been doing so well with not making things blow up lately. Even a seemingly minor fizzle turned out to be a false alarm. While it's not laptop batteries this time, it seems that Sony has run into a bit of trouble with some of the AC adapters used for its VAIO all-in-one desktops and docking stations. Specifically, the insulation used in adapters for the company's VGC-LT and VGC-JS2 series desktops and VGP-PRBX1 and VGP-PRFE1 docking stations can apparently fail over time and pose an electrical shock hazard for users, although there have been no reports of injuries to date (and only four reports of any short circuiting). Still, it's probably a good idea to take Sony up on its offer for a free replacement. Hit up the link below for all the necessary details.

Thanks for the news bro. Now, let's get back to Droid
exactly what I was thinking. But to stay on topic:
Lets hope that Sony isn't making the battery/charger for the Moto Droid.
And my last comment applies to this one too.

and so does tikiteko's reply.
You mean they didn't feel the sticker shock?
good job sony.
what's up with sony's quality control these days? first batteries, now this?
I was just about to say something about that.
Sony is shooting themselves in the foot. On top of battery and charger issues for their computers, they keep releasing high-end niche products. The Vaio P is extremely overpriced. Their TVs, which still are great, now play second fiddle to Samsung (personally, I prefer plasmas). This is due, in part, to the fact that their TVs were overpriced for many years. In addition, Sony went from the PS2, one of the best-selling consoles of all-time, to the PS3, which was overpriced and sat on shelves.
It's nothing too new. Sony has sucked for a long time. Part of the reason the PS2 sold so much is because everytime a system broke and was either fixed under warranty or a refurbed sent out they counted it as a sale. Their sales were then perceived as higher.
The only thing Sony I will buy is blank DVDs, other than that, I try to never touch anything made by them
All your comments are belong to Droid!
They did it for the show.
also recalled is the new PSP GO, due to risk of suck.
Now you know the reason for my name.
4 out of 69000 isnt all that bad. Stuff breaks sometimes...
Warming battery fires for those cold winter days and mild electroshock therapy to sooth away the days stress, Sony how do you keep coming up with these wonderful new features?
OVER 69000?!!
thanks for nothing Sony
Mine almost killed me in 2005.
Had to buy a replacement myself,
how's about sending me a new X series for all my trouble?
I was holding two of these and I got a dual shock.
I was holding a newer model and they gave me a dual shock too.
More shitty sony products.
This is shocking news!
Is this meant to be a cross between over 9,000 and 69er jokes?
OMG I'M SHOCKED!
Oh the sony adapters is dangerous again.
Last weekend my battery can not charge, so I buy a new one from http://www.battery4.us/
But I found it can not charge too, So I ask the shop for my money refund.
Now It seems there are some problem with the sony adapter.
There have only been 4 reports of any having this problem. Not good but definitely not catastrophic. You can't make and sell as many products as Sony do without having some problems. This is a non-story apart from it being a good idea to inform purchasers of the products concerned that they can have replacements.
OH MY GOODNESS!
