I don't see the big deal, you don't want to use VCast, don't use it. It's just a Blackberry.. it does what every other blackberry in the world does.. if anybody actually wants to use VCast Video they can. *shrug*
Yeah agreed. I could care less if my phone is capable of Vcast, but I do care if it has the crappy verizon os stuff. That's horrendous. But obviously no blackberry is going to have that so its really a non-issue.
Actually Verizon is getting the Iphone. Not that I would get one. I would recommend the droid. The transition to the Android OS should not make you feel guilty. The OS Is capable of so much
Actually darktor11, rumors don't make for facts. There has been no showing they're getting the iPhone and their new ad campaign (on the Verizon website) is talking smack about the iPhone.

I still think that Verizon's CDMA is pretty good. Best coverage and signal I have had on my wireless life so far.

Good thing RIM did offer Storm1 owners OS 5.0 on Monday before the Storm2 came out. It made things much better.
I wholeheartedly agree. I was considering paying full retail for one of the Droids but after upgrading on Monday, I don't think I'll have to now. The original Storm seems to just work now.
My original Storm works well with OS5 too... no need to prematurely upgrade before my new every two.
i much rather go with the BB Tour than the bb Storm2. Storm1 left a deep gash in my heart, i just don't think i can handle another one. i think the third generation of the bb storm will be the best.
If you get a chance, try it out. I do not like anything about the Blackberry OS, but I think the screen tech they used in the Storm 2 is pretty awesome. Best screen typing on any device I have ever used, seriously. TP2, Omnia, iPhone.. the piezo tech beats them all. It will be interesting to see how it holds up over a 1-2 year contract.
Joe, the difference as far as I know is it has a sponge as a screen allowing for better button clicks and multiple button clicks.

I had thought about buying the Storm2, until I saw the Droid promos, now I am going to wait and see. I have a Storm, and I've got to say the 5.0 upgrade made it feel like a new phone. After the upgrade even if I don't get the Droid, I may just keep my Storm and see what new phones Spring brings.
Yeah the 5.0 Firmware is a night and day difference. If RIM and Verizon would've until everything worked right instead of being money hungry they would've made a lot more in the end.
Either way I love my storm and I can wait another year for my contract to be up so I can get a Tegra or Snapdragon based phone...

Im a current Storm 1 user, and actually quite happy with it, especially since they upgraded the OS to 5.0, runs like a dream now. IDK why people have such a problem with it, treat it like a pc, get rid of the crap you are not using, kill your apps when not using them, and it will run great! Plus with the Desktop Manager for mac, keeps things in sync perfectly. This is coming from an ex-iPhone user. Vcast, personally, is a total bonus. If I miss "The Office" or something its usually up there to watch free the next day.
But just my 2 cents, and after re-reading what I just typed, im sorry i sound like a salesman lol, but just my experience.
I'm going with the Droid I think, but I gotta check it out at the store first. Hoping to God it doesn't have all the VZW shitware...

I've talked to people that said that if 5.0 had been out originally, they wouldn't have had anything to complain about. You can keep judging RIM for releasing a half-baked device, but its not like they CAN'T get it right.

Anyone know when this phone is released in Canada?
They actually released the new software for old storms also and it is a huge improvement. I was shocked to use the storm with the new software. It is actually usable as a phone! It locks and unlocks on command and quickly and neatly opens applications! A simple software up date can go so far. Still not up to par with the iPhone, Pre, and new Droid though.
