First Storm 2 ad huffs and puffs for attention (video)
Given the timing of Storm 2's launch and the Motorola DROID's unveiling, you'd think Verizon had all but abandoned its touchscreen BlackBerry. But lo and behold, we do have a new television spot. "Who says lightning never strikes twice" -- who said it ever struck the first time? Video after the break.

After being a Storm 1 owner and upgrading to the new 5.0 OS, also found on the Storm 2, I would never let anyone I know or like buy a Storm of anykind. The OS is crap. If you dont believe me, go to Crackberry.com and read the Storm OS forums. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Beware!!!
@ 'eraserzero', do you get paid overtime for posting? Or is it billed at Verizon's usual hourly rate? I'm strapped for cash and I'm willing to say ANYTHING.
@all things considered
Why? Because he's telling the truth through personal experience instead of just blindly hating something he's never used? Pretty much everything he said is spot-on.
How can you say "ultra responsive" then have a caption in the bottom left of the screen with a disclaimer stating "Screen images simulated."
Same way the iPhone 3G commercials used to tell you how you can do this or that "really fast", show it happening really fast, and have exactly the same disclaimer at the bottom of the screen.
Everyone does it. Get over it.
Well... I like the keyboard... Reminds me of the iPhone's :P
If yall down rank me ill find you.
Happy hunting!
How sad.
Verizon felt the need to mention AT&T in their Bb storm commercial.imagine if iphne 3g would be taking a stab at other carrier, but apple I not low class like that .
Again for the third commercial in a row.
Sounds like they hurting.
If this is verizons answer to the iPhone megagargantuan sales figures, their in trouble.
By the way jobs is responsible for product red. Techniclly jobs has saved thousands of dying aids infected unfortunate people in Africa. Don't believe me ask Bono. Was at u2 concert Sunday.
No, Apple doesn't take stabs at anyone.
Further proof Apple is a kindhearted company that cares: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpOvzGiheOM
"but apple I not low class like that"
Enjoy your downrank, you worked so hard to earn it.

reading your mental drivel twice, is twice too much
Sorry, I was unaware my "mental drivel" was posted twice.
Glad you got my point, however. It is based on fact and experience rather than just a blind opinion.
was that David Spade playing guitar?
lamisil monsters
you dont make it easy
nice phone/bod
i was waiting for arnold to walk naked out from that hole, that is where they stole that from right? the whole lightning followed by a spherical crater on the ground, way to be unique.
A new phone gets released yesterday, the Droid, and everyone acts like that one single device is going to replace every other device out there. Guess what? It isn't going to do that. Not by a long shot. No business that runs Blackberry services now is going to just drop them because the Droid is here. People that got Blackberry's this year with the buy one, get one free deal aren't going to pay all the extra dollars for early switching just to dump them for Droids. Just like the stories that made it out that everyone would drop dedicated navigation devices since Google is releasing a navigation app.
Android has yet to make any real dent in the smartphone market. I think the Droid is a good start, but as you said it's not the only game in town. I think the Storm2 will sell as good as any phone can under Droid's shadow.
I'm a Storm1 owner and I can tell you that I will never, EVER, touch the Storm2. I don't care how glowing the reviews may be. I've never wanted to smash anything more than I do this Storm. The updated 5.0 OS is garbage. I miss my iPhone, but screw at&t.
The official 5.0 OS is not garbage. It is the best thing that has happened to the original storm since release. It actually makes the phone a half way usable phone. I will also add that I will not be purchasing a Storm 2 regardless of the changes made. I'm guessing most of the non business VZ customers will be jumping on the Droid bandwagon.
I get feeling this still won't be as desirable as 2nd version of iPhone.
Doubt will sell million in first weekend just a hunch. I'll be right though.
Where's Chuck Norris?
never liked the storm, actually i hated it. But this commercial is awesome, why cant we have a commercial like that for the droid. Still think the bbs2'll suck.
The first Storm sold well, but was plagued with problems. It sounds like the Storm2 delivers on the promises of the first one. But I don't think we'll see Verizon put any marketing muscle behind the Storm2 because of Droid.
Go Switchfoot Go! :))
@aaronaaron
I know this is a late response but, my battery life is significantly longer and my phone doesn't heat up as much. I have to agree with what was said before either your running too many apps. It could be battery issues too or the firmware didn't install correctly...
Y do they keep going after at&t saying they have 5x more coverage. Thats bc their network is spread out so they provide coverage in the most states but in reality their coverage is in patches. for the most part at&t provides complete coverage in the places their in for example NY
