I dont think this is intended for the "gaming on the go" crowd.
all nintendo's adverts for the ds in the uk focus on non-gamers..e.g. women , older men, and grandma/grandad.
my guess is this is aimed towards the older market who have poorer eyesight
DSi Jitterbug
haha. Future of the DS
haha. The future of the DS
That new stylus looks like it could pass for a sex toy...
not so much against the bigger screen and consequently bigger overall size as I am against the increased price. Honestly, sucess has made Nintendo greedy and lazy. I love my ds lite but its been a long time, release an actually new system rather than an update to an older system. C'mon stop milking it already.
also, why is the new stylus friggin enormous??
Grubby fat American hands.
great
Yeah why is the new stylus friggin enormous??
This is meant for the older crowd. A group of people that may not have great eyesight and may also have issues dealing with such a small stylus.
Are the screens higher res then? or are they the same?
+1 for me too
Well obliviously whole point of this to block flash cards.
Well there's 2 things wrong with your comment.
1. The DSi have updatable firmware.
2. Even the Lite/Phat sevral firmware revisions to stop these piratecarts.
I wouldent be suprised that my Phat old Lite & New Lite each have a different firmware version.
It makes sense since they are trying to appeal to more mature users and their needings.
So this is just a bigger model with no word yet on specs. So... does that mean there could be a GBA slot? *Crosses fingers*
Wonder if this could be the rumored Tegra DSi as well.
Anyone that buys this is gonna be even stupider then those that bought the DSi. I hope everyone realizes the DS is gonna five years old on the 21 of next month. Lets think here what has the normal generation cycle for the last 20 years been like?
If you buy this or the dsi don't get all pissed at Nintendo when their new tegra powered handheld comes out late next year.
It's not really all that constant for portables...
Game Boy to Game Boy Pocket was 7 years - if you don't count Game Boy Pocket as a new model, it was 9 years between Game Boy and Game Boy Color.
It was then 3 years from Game Boy Color to Game Boy Advance.
Game Boy Advance to Game Boy Advance SP, if that counts, was two years. Game Boy Advance SP to Game Boy micro was two years.
Game Boy Advance to Nintendo DS was three years.
Wow, you guys love to bitch just about anything.
This DSi was made for big people, with big hands.
If I was huge, which I once was, i'd feel like a litle bitch holding something small in my hands.
And fuck it'll sell in Texas. Cause here in Texas we like stuff big!
Prepare to enjoy your jaggies.
I'm a Nintendo fan (I own every home console made by them) but this is just a stupid idea to try and capitalize on an over-drawn market some more. They should be releasing a DS2 this coming Christmas. (next generation Tegra anyone?)
Holy fuck-nuts Batman! That DSi is ENORMOUS! Why would anyone want that? It doesn't fit in your pocket! It's hardly portable! What's the point of a handheld without portability?
It's just another option, ala the GBA micro. I don't see anything to complain about. Dell makes bigger laptops than I would ever want too, but some people love them. The main thing for me is the DS collection of games, which is almost mind bogglingly good and continues to grow. Why? Because so many people have the DS and developers feel safe putting a lot of time and money into making substantial games for the platform. It's pretty good all around.
I can skip the first dsi. If I ever end up getting one.
GBA slot back? Cause they cant really say there is no room since they scaled up...
I bet this is at least partially for experimentation. Nintendo wants to see how a bigger handheld does on the market to see which direction to go for the next generation.
oh and printing money
And yet the resolution is still the same as the original DS that had two midget screens. Pitiful, bigger isn't always better, Nintendo!
I think this was all so Nintendo could say to Sony
*lowers shades*
"Mine's bigger."
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Wow are the iphone fanbois still trying to pitch that their "gaming console" is superior to DS and PSP?
Obviously if you join the cult, they supply you with a large stash of shrooms. I'd like to get my hands on some of that without joining please!
Well Cow, I'm sorry but since I have my iPhone 3GS, I didn't touch my PSP or my DSi anymore.
Even not my Xbox 360 or my Wii.
And I tell ya, I was one of those iPhone haters......
I am wondering what's the point of re-releasing the DSi again in a bigger edition? Is Nintendo responding to their less than stellar sales this quarter? The value proposition doesn't seem all that appealing to me...A smaller DSi or a bigger one....It feels too late to release it now. It feels like something that should have been available at the launch of the DSi not later on.... Just me though... There's probably someone with a tiger paw that wants their Phoenix Wright action....
If they add an e-book reader to this, I'd buy it over a Kindle. Maybe.
wow.... Nintendo really needs to lay off the crack....
Seriously, I'll take a PSP Go over that piece of scrap metal any day of the week...
Isn't it obvious!
1. bigger screen
2. longer battery life
3. cheap japaneese wifi
They want to watch porn on the DSi Browser and be able to see what's happening!
Would they sell the pen alone?
JESUS FREAKING CHRIST ITS HUGE!!! no way am i gettin it unless it has a GBA slot and maybe 5000 free DSi Shop points hahaha
