Media Manager for Mac enables iPhone / iTunes media streaming to FiOS TV DVR (video)
We're hearing that the PC version of this here software still beats out the Mac counterpart, but equality is slowly but surely becoming a reality. The main new feature over on the OS X side, however, is a good one: the ability to stream iPhone and iTunes media directly to your TV via your FiOS TV DVR. Fire up an iTunes playlist and watch the fun roll by on your home TV, and there's even support for photo slideshows and the like. It's available to download right now from the read link, and those still skeptical can catch a demonstration vid just past the break.

This application crashes on Mac OS 10.6.1 on every attempt to play unprotected MP3 files. Still needs some improvements, video sharing.
wow, as if Apple needed to give people a(another) reason not to buy an Apple TV.
Maybe they're trying to convince their own fanboys to take it easy.
lol, it's for "The Mac".
yeah, i still think it was verizons' choice, they didn't want the iphone cuz its sucks so much and droid DOES!!!! ... ohhh evill apple!!!!!! BURN!!!!!!
She's not a computer geek.
and she doesn't work for cocaine
but i'd streem her on MY lap top...
Urge to kill.....rising!........this chick has me feeling so stabby, I could hardly listen to her message. GAH!! So tired of the canned (windows 7 party style) videos. Downright insulting.
Well, that's all for now. I need a chip! **CRUNCH** GAAAHHHHHH!!!!
i like how shes not really using the MacBook Pro and they show the Media Manager running on 10.4 Tiger
Kide @ Maybe thats why its crashing on 10.6
Now only if i could get FiOS were i live
I'd be happy if the Verizon FIOS locator would just acknowledge that my address is a real address instead of giving me alternatives to select that are halfway across LA.
iPhone? iPhoto
Seriously, Verizon! I think I crashed your servers for over-checking when my address will have FiOS. Now I see one post in a forum saying other parts of Central NJ will get it in early 2010?! Grrr.... I'm paying $170+/month for Cablevision ever since my triple package expired, and I could get so much more for less money with Verizon's setup. if. they'll. ever. get. here.
To me the application sucks. the quality of the photos are horrible. Every time I try to stream music, it crashes on my mac, and reboots my damn cable box!!!!!! What's up with that?
Come on Uverse, get your ass in gear. How about letting me stream my DVR recordings to my iPhone? The infrastructure is already there with the Uverse App, just kick it up a notch.
For the first couple of seconds of the video, I thought she was on a Windows 7 launch party.
What is with tech companies and parties?
This software is absolute garbage on the PC, I cant imagine it would be any better on the Mac. Videos that are streamed look like absolute SHIT. Not worth the time to install. TVersity is much better....
"the ability to stream iPhone and iTunes media". Don't you mean iPhoto and iTunes media?
so I wonder if those packets get priority over all other packets....hmmm yeahh yeah verizon and google are all for net neutrality but what about the other carriers that decide they want to jump on the band wagon, are they going to let there video compete with all the others freely?
Okay so it doesn't work well yet. But damn the concept of this program is great. It will save us about $250 for a Popcorn Hour or something like that.
I don't have FIOS myself here, but this will create good competition.
