Why dont mobile phone companys create a universal dock on the bottom of the phone/media players, thats why apple ipod/iphone are so popular, u can plug it into hundreds of music players, they have all now standardised the usb charger I just wish they would have a dock port on the bottom of there devices.

The dock IS standardized and universal. It's the pins that are used, though, because certain iPods use different pins for the same functions.
The reason this is dual-dock isn't because of the dock connector.

Exactly, mobile companies had years to come up with something standard... hell you can't get standard chargers across a single model year from companies like Motorola or Nokia... some still use custom wired HEADSET adapters and not 2.5mm. Even now, after 5 years of iPod dominance, they could have put up "something" to compete, like Paul said, the media features on most phones are wasted because you can't use the phone with your car or stereo dock, so it's one more item to keep track of on a busy schedule.
So over these, give us some android sinking ad-don hey? aright they due? please be due!!

You know guys/girls, some people have a partner that also has an iphone... hence the requirement for two iphone docks :)

My wife and I each have an iPhone and last time I checked that equals 2 iPhones. Is meeting a member of the opposite sex that has any interest in you at all really that remote of a possibility for you?
My wife and I both have iPhones. I have the 3Gs while she rocks with the 3G. This product is quite attractive as I currently own a Sony iPhone clock radio with a single dock and the last iPhone to bed gets the the cord charger.
My wife and I have 2 iphones as well. And we usually charge our phones overnight, so something likes this makes sense, and doesn't junk uo the place with a bunch of extra cables. Besides, if I went to Apple to buy 2 extra charging cables, 2 chargers, and 2 docs, it would cost as much as this radio.
actualy i have 2 iphones, dont use one since its a 2g. and this is sorta cool since my wife and i needed a new clock and it comes with 2 docks? the need for 3 outlets is over!
some of us do have a wife, a spouse, a partner, etc... this actually will probably be under the tree this year (if I can find one...). Happy Samhain everyone!
