Motorola CLIQ lands in T-Mobile USA stores today
Motorola's Android-laden CLIQ has been available to existing T-Mobile USA users for a hot minute now, but not until today has the handset been widely available to all that care to take notice. Of course, the proper launch has been dampened somewhat by the emergence of the DROID (alongside Android 2.0), but hey, MOTOBLUR ain't nuthin' to scoff at, right? Feel free to locate your nearest T-Mob retail location, waltz in with $199.99 and get yours today.

Try it before order it, my co-worker got this phone last week and wasn't happy of the keyboard and some other mechanical issue, is faster than g1 but suffer many issue g1 doesn't had.
I've tried the keyboard, and it typed pretty good. Though it is a bit too squished. But I don't see this doing as well anymore considering the droid is coming out. Though, I wish this had a larger screen and faster processor. Looks like a great gaming phone.
The phone do take nice picture and video. it does auto focus and digital zoom.
The phone menu can change to just about any foreign language include chinse, bewrae once you change that might had issue going back first one is always english.
Haven't heard Chinse spoken in a long time.
$200 is not going to cut it anymore, especially with Android 2.0 right around the corner.
what is that circle logo on the back?
It's the tmobile my circle logo, its a logo that represents free calling to numbers you select.
Its the favorite 5 deal. All the compatible phones have that logo. Add GV as one of your favorites and you can save tons of cash.
What I think is funny is that with Tmo's new plans, you can no longer get MyFaves. So now this logo is on these devices to indicate compatibility with a grandfathered feature. Ha.
Actually, you can still get myfaves. Its available as a no cost add on, you just have to ask for it.
actually you can't get myfaves anymore...you can just get the myfaves selection screen, so you can put the 5 people you call the most right on your homescreen, but it still uses minutes when you call them. The only people who will have myfaves are people who have a grandfathered plan.
@scrcmedic: can you verify if that's true? I've heard that longtime customers used to be able to call in, complain a little, and have a 5 MyFaves added for free, but can we still do that now with the new plans not having any MyFaves?
Very nice looking phone, but I agree, they better aggressively cut the price on this unit if they want it to sell a lot.
I'm one of the devs for motoblur on the g1. Its a really nice UI
I see on the website that this is coming only to the click. Do you know if this is going to be available on the DROID? I just pre-ordered mine today.
I've been scouring XDA for a stable 2.0 release for the G1-do you know if any efforts are underway? I at least want the awesome new lockscreen-__-
@Dave: I doubt the UI will ever come to the Droid. But 2.0 is really nice, and you'll enjoy that too.
@B3astofthe3ast: There are efforts being made on it. From what I've seen/used, its coming along nicely and it has the lockscreen :) Expect a release soon. Pic: http://twitgoo.com/4nrpi
Thanks a bunch Persian; I just hopes it comes before the droid arrives so my friends can't rub it in my face. Not likely, but one can hope.
awesome, im doing the same beast, so far i've been using cyan's 4.2.3.1 and a couple of themes that have the blur animations and i think a little bit of eclair's stuff too, but cant tell what if any.
persian, you have a twitter with updates about this type of stuff?
Yeah I have a twitter. Go ahead and follow :) www.twitter.com/kmobs
MOTOBLUR on the G1? What are you talking about lol G1 is HTC
sondun2001
Really?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=576067
Will it support wireless, auto rotate, and bluetooth on the G1? is it on xda developers?
Oh nevermind Persian is drizzydrake? the guy that tried to rip off the other guy of his motocliq and got got banned from xda developers?
@digitallysick I'm not drizzy. I'm PersiansOwn on XDA. Another developer and I have taken over the motoblur port.
Out of the things you listed, BT is working. Head over to the thread to see what we've done.
A young woman in my local t-Mobile store showed me the cliq last week. She said that I should wait a little while since t-Mobile is going to come out with a whole bunch of new Android phones. She is my source for t-Mobile info!
Damn Engadget. You've been letting these ads come in left and right the past few days.

i like the back. pretty snazzy
It's a pretty good phone, i got mine about 4 days ago, and i love the fact my applications run in the background, and multi-tasking is pretty good too, but of course thats Android for you.
i do, however, notice a few bugs with the on-screen keyboard, some of them are harder to type than others, or some become non-responsive at times. it doesn't really matter much though since i have a physical keyboard to type messages, the keyboard is pretty good too, it took me about a day to really get used to it.
I heard it on pace to sell million in 72 hours.
Oh wait that's that other phone. What's it called
"vowel ph0ne"
let's see if android as desirable as the phone. Can't wait to see the sales numbers.
I can't wait to see grammar.
Got my pre-order phone a couple Fridays ago. I love it so far. Faster than I expected. Takes great pics and vids. Physical keyboard is awesome....only complaint is the recessed space bar. I find myself deleting a lot of "b" entries because I hit the "b" key while trying to hit space. So far though that is my only real complaint!
Does it do flash? Apparently, every new phone should...
no push = fail.
Android-laden? Really?
"Waxes poetically," "simplistic card reader," and now "Android-laden?"
It's becoming clear that Murph needs his own, private editor.
I really wanted to like it to cuz I like the concept of the phone. Mayne motoblur 1.5 or 2.0 on a newer device will get it right. IMO the verizon Droid running android 2.0 killed any hype for the Cliq to me
Just come to Wal-Mart. We have the black ones at my location for $148 with a two year upgrade or new line.
I've had the phone since Nov 2nd, here are my COMPLAINTS:
1. MOTOBLUR interface crashes, I have to select "force quit" often. Fortunately it reboots quickly, but this is very annoying
2. The "Universal Inbox" is helpful, however you cannot specify a different notification for SMS, vs. Gmail vs. Facebook mail. This is really annoying, since I don't want the phone to beep every time I get an email or Facebook message. I would prefer a separate notification for SMS only.
3. WIth the phone locked, when it rings it asks you to move a slider across the screen to answer. Often, you can slide the slider but it simply slides back to the left, making it impossible to answer the phone
4. Battery life SUCKS
5. When you set the alarm, you cannot power off the phone. Unlike my Blackberry, this phone will not wake up to give you an alarm. I don't like to leave my phone on all night, battery wont last till morning anyways
6. NO UPGRADE path to Android 2.0 in sight
IF YOU ARE FROM MOTOROLA, PLEASE CONTACT ME. I AM GOING TO SEND THIS PHONE BACK UNLESS SOME BUGS ARE FIXED SOON
