Sprint touts Palm Pixi's nonexistent WiFi
Sprint has a time-honored tradition of screwing up its ads. Remember the Palm OS-powered (yes, Palm OS, not webOS) Motorola Q2? How about the Pre's mythical tethering capability? Here's a new one to add to the history books: the "WiFi capable" Pixi, yours for just $99.99 after mail-in rebate. Count us in.

That monkey is the funniest thing I have seen in the past week.
I bet the monkey have WiFi
The Pre can tether via USB and BT, and it doesn't cost anything extra on your plan, even the app itself is free, you can even turn it into a MiFi.

Maybe Palm came to their senses, and realized that Moto was releasing a similarly priced phone with WiFi on Verizon's network, and decided to change their specs?
Any word on SERO being compatible?

"The fact of the matter is that Sprint is not making any money with SERO plans"
Poor wording aside, this petition seems to asking Sprint to lose money. One should probably feel lucky that Sprint even offers a SERO plan. But greed knows no bounds, I suppose.
That petition is horribly written. If anything, it should say something like "We were lured to Sprint with a plan that was then discontinued. We were then informed that any and all Sprint exclusive smartphones would not be compatible on our plan. This is the ultimate bait and switch and is wrong, we were never informed that we would have to stick to basic phones and that we would be blacklisted from the new phones Sprint advertises."
not the nonsense it actually says. It is fucked up of Sprint.
That would be great if this comes true, but I imagine it was a mistake. I was tempted to get one until I found out it was lacking wifi. Glad I went with a Moment instead, its an amazing phone.
All decent smartphones have WiFi, it would be a weird decision if this one didn't.
I thought it was sprint company policy now that all new smartphones have wifi built in anyways
Completely useless until it's released on a real network like Verizon. It's just a matter of time until Sprint goes out of business.
"Run multiple apps smoothely and seamlessly"
lol ok, because the Pixi doesn't absolutely crawl at 3 cards....
So now they've edited the ad, but deleted the GPS reference too? Panic mode, indeed.
