Michael Young's latest design for EOps, whose appearance only hints at its
i24R3 heritage, is a fully sealed noisemaker that can communicate via wireless USB
or Bluetooth, depending on the model. You should pick your poison with care as there are no options for wired hook-ups. With a Li-Pol battery pack and an array of flat panel speakers and passive radiators inside, this could well be the ultimate in portable weatherproof speaker design, but even if it isn't, we'd still consider mounting it on a wall and worshipping it as our Sun God.

first(!) waterproof speaker that i've seen in awhile
Bang and Olufsen ripoff.
I wonder what the cone is made out of to make it waterproof....and if its rubber how that impacts the sound. Anyone here know speaker design :p
There's no cone, at least on the main speaker.
What I want to know is how much $$?

There's many materials that a speaker can be made of that are waterproof (actually water-resistant). They can be traditional paper with a water-resistant coating, or they can be made of any number of plastics.
Rubber would make a terrible speaker cone, for the same reason it makes a good surround.
More importantly, does it float?
that's what I was wondering while reading it...
Answering that question should answer the "will it blend" question.
But if it blends too well one might hit his head if diving into it
much better than that 4x5' wall monstrosity
