NVIDIA takes its feud with Intel to cartoonish new levels

Oh, boy. Just when you thought NVIDIA 's feud with Intel couldn't rise above endless name-calling, lawsuits and production shutdowns, NVIDIA does this. In a series of not-so-subtle cartoons on the recently established Intel's Insides website -- which NVIDIA's spokesperson has confirmed is, in fact, hosted by NVIDIA -- NVIDIA takes aim at Intel (and CEO Paul Otellini, specifically) over a range of alleged ill doings, and even goes so far as to include a cheeky disclaimer that the site "is not provided, sponsored or endorsed by Intel Corporation." Hit up the gallery below for a quick retrospective, and stay tuned for what we can only hope is a decent comeback from Intel.

i tried so hard not to dignify this with a response but i can't restrain myself. that comment has to be the most irrelevant, ill-informed piece of flaming fanboy crap i have ever read. and i read Engadget and Joystiq on a daily basis. you take the cake for most stupid comment on this article and possible this site.

Even though I like Intel's processors and usually recommend them, a lot of their actions are anti-competition and monopolistic.
Why is it so obvious to the consumer that Intel is monopolistic, yet the government lets it happen. I have to wonder if Nvidia can make their own CPUs. I mean does it have to be under the x86 architecture? Can't they create their own architecture? It's not like x86 was given to Intel, they had to create it, so why can't Nvidia do the same?
Patents are a little confusing to me, especially X86 patent. But I do believe I heard that parts of the X86 patent have expired and are continuuing to expire over time which paves the way for more players giving it a whirl if they have the money to do so. More specifically, I read a rumor stating that Nvidia may be getting into the cpu game since they are soured on Intel's treatment of them as they made chipsets for Nehalem.
I don't know if things will eventually be ruled against intel or in its favor, but it does seem like alienating nvidia was one more shot to the foot they could have done without. Is Nvidia making chipsets that big of a deal? They'd still be buying the chips from intel. Intel been cornering the cpu market with its rebates (whose legality will the the main point of contention in all these proceedings), now they want the chipsets under tighter control. Wouldn't be surprised if they try to shove everything non-larrabee out of the market too in a couple years. Some might say, no way the case will take care of all that before then. But there's a very real possibility that this will go on for 5-10 years. Hell I think the AMD-Intel trial approaching in 2010 was put in motion like 3 years ago or something!

I too have to repeat the obvious truth, without competition the consumers would suffer. If one or the other does not exist, prices will skyrocket and performance will go down.
As for Nvidia and Intel's quarrels...its all business =D
Regardless of who is correct, that's not a classy move by Nvidia and I'm not sure it's furthering their cause.
Nvidia is so much full of it, everything that depicts on those cartoons they do it in the channel. I hope they land into a big one sooner or later.
Anyone (that includes you, Vladislav Savov) that says "Blah, blah, NVIDIA should spend time making better products and not wasting it making cartoons, blah, blah" needs to sit back and think for a moment. A cartoonist could sit down, draw them up, scan them, and upload them to wherever he (or she) wanted in about one man-hour.
Yeah but then the PR department and the lawyers and the phone operators will spend a few more hours.. or days..weeks?
Lost faith in Nvidia years ago this just goes to show I was right.

Intel has been raping the market for over a decade. I hate Intel as a business. Their processors might have been great and the i7 might be awesome but at the prices they demand nothing is that good. Not to mention the entire market uses them. I mean if Dell sells the majority of computers in the world and the only processor they use is intel that sounds like coercion and monopolization. Which Intel has been sued for before. Do we really want the government stepping in and dumping on the industry by declaring Intel a monopoly? Sadly I think it's required to get this to stop.
Look at the freaking netbook market alone. The atom is a PoS yet it's taken 99% of the market for laptops and streamlined desktops. That's insane. That's a monopoly. There are alternatives and from what I understand the nano is better yet atom is in everything.
Damn! This means we wont see Nvidia chipset for LGA 1366 :(
