Too broke to pay
Tony Hawk's royalties on a Wii
skateboard / snowboard? Yeah, we feel you, and evidently Thrustmaster does too. Said peripheral outfit has just introduced its newest Wii accessory, the T-Freestyle NW. Designed with work with any skate or snowboard game that lands on Nintendo's money-maker, the board is crafted from genuine maple and sports a totally stereotypical "skull" design on the top. There's also a safety stopper to prevent any sort of toppling disaster, and best of all, this thing will be available at the end of the month for just $29.99. Gnarly, dude.

Experience the sensation of skateboarding and snowboarding like no other
New York, NY - (November 5, 2009) - Thrustmaster, the innovative PC and console accessory brand from Guillemot Corporation, is proud to unveil the T-Freestyle NW, the ultimate controller for snowboarding and skateboarding Wii™ fans. Experience the extreme action of boarding this winter from the comfort of your living room. Available just in time for the holidays, the T-Freestyle NW will be available at the end of November for $29.99 SRP.
With the T-Freestyle NW (patent pending), now more than ever before, it's more fun and intuitive for gamers to land perfect maneuvers and link up slides from one rail to another. Wii™ snowboarding and skateboarding gamers can use the T-Freestyle NW to execute freestyle tricks and to control their boarding runs with the same spirit of "freedom" and the sensation of "no limit" that makes these sports so popular.
Crafted of genuine maple – just like real boards, the T-Freestyle offers the perfect balance between flexibility and resistance reproducing the real sensations of boarding. Maneuvering half-pipes and rail jams in games has never been this realistic. Designed to reflect the extreme attitude and style of boarders, the T-Freestyle NW features a "Skull" logo and the size allows for positioning just like a real board.
"In order to achieve this striking realism for gamers, Thrustmaster has employed Rolling Motion Board technology, allowing for true lateral movement capabilities just like in boarding sports, as well as a Safety Stopper feature to eliminate any risk of tipping over, for maximum fun and safety," says Winn Keaten, Thrustmaster Marketing Manager.
Users can attach the T-Freestyle NW to their Balance Board™* quickly and easily, then get on and enjoy endless hours of fun playing their favorite boarding games with a level of realism that has never been possible until now. This is the ultimate accessory for current and future ultra-realistic snowboarding and skateboarding games on Wii™.

There's a point where the Wii peripherals have gone to far, and that point has clearly been passed...
gnarly skull though...
Just looking at this makes me think about how much Tony Hawk Rides going to suck when it comes out this month...
It looks like a wii fit board stacked with a skateboard deck.
*slow clap*
This is just as pointless as every other third party Wii accessory.
It looks as if this just lays atop the Wii Balance Board for aesthetics...stupid.
Next? That would imply that at some point in the past I already had a skate/snowboard controller, which I most certainly did NOT.
There we go, that'll sell some more Wiis....
Back To The Future stamp of approval.
Thrustmaster? Seriously? Who the hell was drunk when they approved that name?
Thrustmaster has been around for a long time. They made their name in the early 90s when flight simulators were all the rage. I had the whole Flightstick/Throttle/Rudder set-up. The name actually made some sense when the games involved simulated airplanes with actual thrust controls. Now it just sounds pornorific.
Speaking of which, gotta love the porno-tech titles today. "Thrustmaster" and "Chocolate Touch". The late night skinemax double feature.
Is that a Cinema Display with a dark-grey overlay?
I like how they tried to make the dude all hip with the guitar, weights, shag carpet and stuff... But they're completely overlooking the fact that dude would really be taking advantage of the all that sunshine we can see outside that window. And probably just skating in front of a K Mart or a mall or something...
lol @ the little dumbell
I'd laugh heartily if this worked better with Tony Hawk Ride than the peripheral designed especially for it.
