Motorola Motus gets FCC approval, Sholes Tablet looking legit
Whenever a Moto with triband HSPA hits the FCC, we're naturally going to end up scouring the documentation -- what can we say, it's in our blood -- and today we've found a model claiming to be the rumored Motus. As a refresher, this is a device we'd heard would rock the Android midrange with a 5 megapixel AF cam, 3.1-inch QVGA display, and HSPA for a Q1 '10 release, so it's not much more than a tweaked CLIQ as far as we're concerned -- but the big news here might actually be that the Motus filing adds legitimacy to the leaked roadmap where we'd originally heard of it. That document made mention of a "Sholes Tablet" that takes the already-high-end DROID / MILESTONE further upmarket with an 8 megapixel cam and xenon flash, and as you can imagine, we'll be listening to our friends at the FCC pretty intently over the next few weeks to see if we can catch that one sliding through.

AT&T? Please...
WTF?
Sholes Tablet?!
Holy Motorola, Batman!
Peter Griffin voice: Wahhhaaaat?
Actually, if they took the Droid keyboard and replaced it with a capacitive screen (2 total) and used it as a [full sized] keyboard and stuck a 1500mah battery under there and made it GSM (to replace the G1)--that would help us G1 owners.
Come-on Moto....the CLIQ was not even close and you stuck it to us when the Droid came out on VZW.
...this is the one with 720p, right?
...how long must I wait???
there will always be something even better just around the corner! can only imagine what the future has in store for smart phones
I just talked to a friend who works for Google and he told me that there is a keyboardless version of the motorola droid with a faster processor making its rounds in the google labs
When did the sholes tablet not seem legit? Is it hard to believe they would make a non qwerty foollow up to the sholes with similar specs?
is the sholes tablet coming to verizon?
wasnt there a leaked rumor about tmobile getting the sholes tablet? and also the sholes phone? maybe this means it really is.
Here is a little evidence that it is legit and coming to tmobile.

OMG OMG OM GOMG
awww, pdusk beat me to it.
I hope its true, i'll probably upgrade my recently bought Cliq if it hits T-Mobile, but then again the no keyboard is a big loss for me :\
This FCC filing paired with the supposed leak of the moto intranet, leads me to believe it is true that this device is coming to tmobile. I really didn't want to jump from Tmo to VZW for the droid, and now I will definitely hold off.
The real question is how BIG might this "Sholes Tablet" be?
Contrary to what my wife tells me, size is VERY important..
Wait? What?
Ive seen the device I am pretty sure, my uncle works for motorola.
It has a weird form factor... it's a clamshell with a keyboard... but not like the voyager, it's an opposite keyboard. the keyboard is exposed at all times, and when you close the clamshell, the screen is on top and the keyboard is on the bottom.. and i'm pretty sure it IS coming to ATT.
