It's been a few months since Nokia's
X6 hit the scene, but the touchscreen-based, S60-lovin'
smartphone is just about ready to ship out to those who've managed to avoid all of the other stellar options that have launched since early September. It seems as if Nokia is gearing up to ship the phone in at least some parts of the world exactly a week from today in concert with a Rihanna release party. And if
Expansys is correct, folks in the UK will see their orders ship out on November 12th. Too bad that £529.99 ($891) price tag is darn near debilitating, but hey, awesomeness has its price.
Go back to the north pole and play with your "misfit toy".
Seriously Nokia, dump this phone and give us the N900 already. You can put out a beta OS, especially if you release updates in a timely manner. I'm pretty sure that would be just as cost effective and you wouldn't any more Marketing Momentum.
Do the math. Buy a refurb iphone for 50 bucks and pay at&t 100 dollars a month for service over the course of say two years. You're spending 2400.00. Buy an unlocked phone, and go to the carrier of your choice to get the best deal, and the best service. No contract, you can cancel at anytime. You can get at&t base plan with unlimited data for 55 bucks a month. Two years of service 1320.00. But what's a mere $1080.00? And no, this phone will not cost $800.00 in the us, it always nearly a dollar for euro conversion. If you're really interested in this phone, wait a month or two and the price will drop $100.00-$200.00 easily.
another lame s60 device. seriously after the N97 huge disappointment all hope is lost for nokia (symbian). wait for the n900 or get a palm pre.
Nokia is now embarrassing itself, not so much because of the device but the 'I am so out of touch with the world' pricing. Instead of the usual benefit of hindsight bschools should do a case study of Nokia as it loses marketshare and fades into irrelevance. Like they say innovate or die.
word is just a satirical mockery of a typical Apple Fanboi.
Play.com have it for pre order £439.99 (Due for release on 11/12/2009)

I have to say I have a love-hate relationship with Nokia. I have had various Nokia phones over the
years and I am currently using a 5800. Nokia makes a lot of great dumb phones but I still think they haven't
succeeded making a truly great smart phone. My Nokia 5800 has good battery life and most of the necessary features most smartphones need but the Nokia firmware updates are hit and miss. I have been waiting for the v31 firmware that improves usuability and fixes several annoying bugs for ages. This is not a late model phone and they still haven't got it to work right yet. It also seems sad when I see several versions of android already out while I still wait for kinetic scrolling. Any Nokia user must also face the fact that the Ovi app store sucks. You can already get tons more free apps for android. That said, I still think Nokia makes pretty reliable hardware and Symbian isn't a lost cause.
Nokia phone not only offers a communication media intended for family, associates plus equals, but moreover a stand for information as well as amusement for the customer.

The Iphone costs more than this... And what's stopping Nokia from selling this phone for $50 with a +$25 monthly plan for the next two years? Nothing, so just be happy that they aren't hiding actual prices like some other companies.
Will you broke people shut up? If you can't afford this, go out and get a job. The other option is to wait for half a year or one year for the price drop. You broke people piss me off ...
I have loved Nokia phones all my life. Currently I am still using the N95 (not the 8GB version) and I am still quite happy. Though I think that Symbian could use a small makeover to make it more fresh compared to the OSs that Apple, Rim, Google and M$ currently produce. As hary536 said, the Symbian will be revamped in 2010, I have my hopes up.
