If you wan't to get the phone for cheaper and lock yourself into a contract, then ask your carrier to carry the phone instead of spouting uninformed nonsense
you can get the n900 for much less than $700. try checking amazon, newegg, mobilecityonline. Amazon: $560 Newegg: $560 Mobilecityonline: $580. Dell had it for $445 (before tax) before it got taken off.
The price is high because this is unlocked and no contract.
word, a.k.a. Truth, you should've turned left at Albuquerque and find your way to a kindergarten. Grownups talking here, not interesting for non-informed (Maemo != Symbian, unlocked price != subsidized price...) iBrats...
- preorders alone run to hundreds of thousands, I think it is mass-market... - N900 costs 599 EUR here in Italy. iPhone costs 720 EUR. - Finland is in the north. - N900 on contract can be free (e.g. UK) and T-mobile US is expected to run it subsidized. - N900 has nice application repositories, besides the coming Ovi Store. Choice is good. - It does not run Symbian, but Maemo, a Linux-based OS. (That's why it is exciting, Symbian is old news indeed.)
The X-Fi3 keeps with the company's commitment to audio fidelity, thanks to the apt-X codec, which supposedly offers audio quality similar to a wired connection when streaming. On that front, the device also handles FLAC files.
