We're onto you,
Wally World. Granted, you already confessed that you'd be dishing out a deal a week until sometime in the future, but hey, we'll feign surprise without thinking twice. Next week's bargain is a good one for those in the market for one of RIM's handsets, as Walmart shoppers will be given a $100 gift card (to Walmart, obviously) if they purchase practically any BlackBerry phone on a 2-year contract from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless. The offer begins at 8AM local time this Saturday and runs through November 20th, and if you're looking to see exactly which handsets are included in the deal, have a look past the break.
- AT&T Curve 8310
- AT&T Bold 9000
- Sprint Curve 8330 (Red & Titanium colors)
- T-Mobile 8520 (Black, White, and Frost)
- T-Mobile Pearl 8120 (Emerald)
- Verizon Storm
- Verizon Storm II
And word is so fuckin' stupid.
downrank his AZZ!
Much the same as the iPhone. Why have you not been banned yet? Engadget seem to unleashing the ban hammer lots at the moment.
It's official: You suck at trolling.
Shit, that's a good deal. Curse you Wal-Mart and your low prices!!!
@ N900
My troll detector is on. Ill downrank him for you
I dont care about profit margins, market share and strategy analytics. I want a phone not a business lecture so shush!
Great! Now the can take those $100 and get cigs, beef jerky, Jello, and some t-shirts and pants for those babies on your shopping carts riding sans t-shirts with just diapers on!
I Agree! Ahahahaa Walmart is so Low class and attracts even lower class people. Complete Trash! Bleh!
*shudders***
not everyone can afford to shop at other places...
give em a break
So, they're pretty much paying for the phone? Why not just hand me a blackberry, instead of this gift card crap. At&t does the same stuff when offering a mail-in rebate. You get a card that's only good at At&t. Just a bunch of crap.
becuase a $100 worth of retail items does not cost walmart $100.00...by forcing you to use a giftcard they are lowering their cost
They are also taking a bet that you forget to mail in the rebate or use the gift card before it expires. That's why AT&T was putting three month expiration dates on their rebate cards. I think the newest one I got was six months, which might mean enough people got pissed at them for that somewhat shady practice.
WM gift cards never expire.
No T-Mobile BlackBerry 9700? No thanks.
Word!
You guys aren't reading between the lines very well...there is a catch: You have to buy a Blackberry...
aaaannnnnnnndddddddd yyyoooooouuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrr ppppoooooooiiiinnnnnnnttttt iiiiissssssssss...................
I thought the catch was you weren't getting an iPhone... Which is a good thing;)
Yup, you are right rickjames. Blackberry>>>>>>iPhone
This is especially validated when the trailer trash magnet of a store aka Wal-Mart starts trying to push them in sales with a gift card you can use to patch up that flat tire in your trailer or maybe get some new hair dye for your mullet. You know your device is a piece of crap when Wal-Mart has a "deal" on it.
Have fun sifting through the bargain bins and coming across that amazing BB. I wonder if these ones come with pre-installed software to educate the majority of customers about the dangers of inbreeding.
@ douche above
they sell Calvin Kline's at Ross. Doesn't stop me from buying their products. get the fuck over yourself.
You buy their products yet do not even know how to spell their name correctly? I would call you an idiot but your post saves me a lot of work. I guess I should know what to expect from an evidently season Ross/Wal-Mart shopper.
you're an a-hole
@marmot:
Dude, Wal-Mart sells the iPhone. So what's your point? What are you going to say when/if they have a sale for the iPhone?
I'm not a Wal-Mart fan by any means, but I guess if you sleep better at night knowing you spent more at another store then more power to you.
BB's aren't perfect, and the iPhone isn't either.
and most 1st party retail stores will refer customers to Walmart, as in most cases we get BETTER prices than the direct retail outlets. The Droid goes for $179 on Walmart.com...The CLIQ?...$99! Droid Eris?...$79.
this will take some consideration on my part. torn between my loved blackberry experience and wanting a droid. droid is fast so fast scrolling it was annoying (i think i had future shock) but Im so used to my blackberry. I need to know what the droid does that the berry does not. I know the basics faster better screen but what else? Help! oh and this seems to be a great deal. $100 gift in walmart is worth $110 in others? exchange rates these days are so confusing.
Too bad Blackberrys are the most overrated phone there is. The desktop software is junk and the UI feels dated. You also have to pay an extra $20 a month for Exchange support.
Come back with an opinion not based on your bad Blackberry experience from 2004.
That means I'd have to buy at least TWO things at Wal-Mart. That ain't gonna happen.
@brent I dont know if you were trying to help but if you were i need more than "Blackberrys are the most overrated phone there is" That dosent tell me anything. why are they so overated? the desktop software does not bother me. I dont use exchange and that dated feeling you have well I dont feel that nor do I care as long as it does what I need it to although those were valid points. Thank you
Dude, this is the internet. You don't need to support your opinions.
I wonder if you can....buy the blackberry, get the $100 from walmart, and between the 30 days exchange the blackberry for a droid or some other phone?
No matter what phone, what company....... two year contracts make them all worthless deals.
@ehisforadam sorry... forgot that..carry on.
Odd... the Curve 8330 is free at my WalMart... They are gonna pay me to buy it... Hehe
Blackberrys : So the great unwashed who shop at Walmart can pretend they have jobs?
i work in the connection center at walmart and our blackBerry prices are alreadypretty damn good. The curve 8310 is free plus the gift card, the bold is $78.88, the tmobile 8520 is $28.88, and the storm is only $48.88 and you can get up to 5 lines and get $500 in gift cards if you really wanted that many blackberrys and data plans.
Do you know if this deal includes upgrades?
whats the diff between buying at walmart or direct from Verizon? would i have to change my plan when I just want to upgrade my phone with my renew for 2 and keep my same plan?
There is no difference you can do upgrades and keep your same plan. People dont realize our awesome prices and there is never any mail in reabates. we also carry the droid for $188 and My touches for $98.88.
Thats a good deal. The 8520 is only 29.99 at walmart. There giving you 70 bux.
@kevin There is no difference you can do upgrades and keep your same plan.

reabates. we also carry the droid for $188 and My touches for $98.88.
So, I can get the Sprint BlackBerry for free, plus a $100 gift card to put toward an even better phone to replace the 8330? Cool.
@justinw Thanks i was nervous cause i was wondering how you guys make money on me when im just continuing the same plan. Now all i have to do is decide on a droid or storm 2.
The droid dosent come with the gift card but we are still a little bit cheaper then the actual verison store. But if your a blackberry lover you cant pass up this deal. Although if you want this deal you need to show up right at 8 on saturday because we are not aware of these secret sales till just 2 days before its released, so we dont have time to stock up on phones. In my store we have tons of 8520 for t-mobile but only 2 blackberry storms and we havent gotten the storm 2 yet but most stores have.
@x--- yes upgrades and adding lines are all included
If you have Verizon then the only phone at the store is the Storm, no Storm 2. If you want the the Storm 2 then you will have to do this online. Also the gift card is an eGift Card that will be emailed in 4-6 weeks.
"A special online offer will also be available online at Walmart.com (www.walmart.com/wireless), providing customers who purchase these BlackBerry devices online with a two-year contract a $100 Walmart.com eGift Card that will be emailed in four to six weeks."
In store its a instant gift card and most stores have the storm 2 for $148.88 . My store just dosent have it but we are suppose to be getting it in at anytime now.
I think this is good news,at least we can spend 100$ in store which was in vein if i purchase from other store. This is cool .
http://www.diffbtwn.com
@JustinW...thanks for the information. Wow that will be a Storm 2 for $48.88!!! Could you let me know when your store has the Storm 2 in the Walmart store? I called all the stores within 25 miles in Florida and all of the Walmarts did not have them in stock.
