Wistron: Readius-like ereader with pull-out flexible display launching in 2010

We've had a soft spot for Polymer Vision in the fetid hollows of that place you call a heart ever since we pressed flesh to its Readius back in February 2008. Unfortunately, we had to let go of any hope for the bendy e-reader to ever hit the market after delays turned into bankruptcy turned into cries of noooo! the world over. Now coddled in the corporate arms of Wistron we hear from Brian Chong, head of Wistron's product planning, that a 5-to-6 inch device with a pull-out flexible e-paper display of similar design to the Readius will launch in 2010. By similar design we hope they've included Bluetooth, dual-band HSDPA, tri-band GSM / EDGE, microSD expansion and SMS capabilities of the original.

Cool article.
By the way I have a question: how come I can't edit my profile anymore? I want to add a picture. Please fix this thanks guys
You can't edit your profile because you're currently being audited by Engadget's commenter approval system. Similar to Apple's App(roval) system, except with no status page. If you question the process, or the grammatical quality of any article, expect to be in the queue for a long, long time.
I am still waiting for my original account to stop saying that bogus message "You did it! An e-mail has been sent..." :|
If I offend thee, please send me an email, don't kill my profile. We are all adults here. Right?
Very exciting technology. The future is now! Can't wait to see this on phones in full color glory.

Argh stupid comment system. >_
while on the subject of the engadget comment system, i would like to know where my avatar has gone. anyone?
I'm just hoping it's cheaper than Kindle. It looks neat but I'm not dropping $500 for it.
Those tiny little words would strain my already afflicted eyes.

The last paragraph in this earlier article would suggest that they've dropped any plans of making a cellphone-type device.
...Bluetooth, dual-band HSDPA, tri-band GSM / EDGE, microSD expansion, SMS and an 8 second battery life...
I want to say WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS FLEXIBLE DISPLAYS?
Oh wait, I have seen flexible keyboards there, this absolutely rocks, I want a flexible mouse too and a flexible laptop, very confortable as a pillow (don't try it at home).
How about a Flexible Life?
Future iPhone technology
Yeah, and as usual Apple will claim that they were the first to use it! :)
As seen in this movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLZjK5LBVzg @ 0:40
This thing has "WIN" written all over it. Will be a MUST BUY, when it debuts....
I love that it's got Harry Potter on it. Which isn't available in a legal eFormat, as far as I'm aware.
No DRM on this baby!
"pull-out flexible display" ... well kinda. I see hinges on that one :-P Would be more correct to call it wrap-up / fold-out screen ;-)
But at least we are one step closer to those real rollup and pull-out screens :-)
I used one last year at a trade show and it felt cheap and like you might break it any second when holding it.
Flexible is great unless you need those pesky hard things like chips, batteries, plastic...
How expensive, Polymer Vision was talking over 500 euros each.
Is this real news? I'm waiting for release it from 3 years ago. I took many rumors.
