PhoneSuit Primo adds extra juice, minimal bulk to your iPhone / iPod
We were suitably impressed by Mophie's Juice Pack Air extended battery / iPhone case when we got a chance to try one out earlier this year, but if you're looking for an extended battery without the case you might want to consider this new Primo micro battery pack form PhoneSuit. Designed for use with various iPods in addition to the iPhone, this one packs an 800mAh battery inside its tiny enclosure, which promises to add up to 45 hours of music playback time to your iPod, or up to three hours of extra talk time to your iPhone 3G. Better still, it has a fairly reasonable price tag of $35, or you can snag a three-pack for $89.95 if you like to be extra prepared (or are looking for a few stocking stuffers). We'll also be checking this one out ourselves shortly, so stay tuned to see if it actually lives up to its claims.

um... the one for the nano...
...There isn't one for the nano. They're all the same model in this picture.
i was pointing out how badly it fits
No hockey mask? I expect a hockey mask on EVERY SINGLE POST today, Engadget ! ! !
Okay, they went back and put a blood splatter. Good enough.
Hah, I pretty much only realize it's Friday the 13th after reading Engadget. LOL Good catch, Tuba.
800mAh is really little
How is that "minimal" bulk for the nano? It's like an iPod nano with a big fat ass.
Yeeeeaaaaah
Perfect if you're Sir Mix-A-Lot
800 mAh is really little
Ring me up buddy!!!
I wonder if the dock connector slides... otherwise it would be off center on the nano. Also, why do I give a damn? I've never owned an apple product in my life.
youre right!
its a photoooshop??
Looks like an AAA battery with a plastic surround and an apple connector?
£20 in the bonus bank
Phonesuit up!
Changeable internal phone batteries are so last season! The bulkier the phone, the better it feels in my pants!
Is that a bulky phone in your pocket, or are you happy to see me?
I like the icons on the jailbroken iphone, anyone know the name of the theme ?
The battery pack looks like poo though.
How is this "minimum bulk" ? The nano's got fatter and even the regular iPods gotten longer by a good 15-20%.
Anyway, isn't it really dangerous to be carrying your phone/ipod this way ? A good bump and either the connector is gonna break or the sockets gonna get damaged.
I guess it's minimal bulk compared to something like the juice pack...but really, it just redistributes the bulk.
Just another cheap battery pack.
The exact same thing is $20 on buy.com

thanks for that link, will buy a couple of those for Christmas presents
I have had the Phonesuit MiLi battery for a while its way better than mophie or these other copycats. Good customer support to.
What did that ipod classic do!!
Yeah, what's up with that??
Why is the middle one all bloody??
Today is Friday the 13th.
I can recommend the Griffin PowerBlock external battery. I lost my iPhone power cord with the little white adaptor that it came with and went to the Apple store to buy another. For the same price I got the Griffin external battery. It's small and easy to throw in your pocket and it gives my iPhone a quick boost that will last a good few hours.
Two other people I know got one and they're happy with them too.

Griffin power block is only 500mAh and costs more, Primo is 800mAh
I think Dexter Morgan got a hold of that second iPod
It's the new BloodPod, it will be out when the next season of True Blood starts.
Only 800 mAh for $35!!?? What a rip off!
How 'bout 2200mAh for $14:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10831&cs_id=1083110&p_id=5480&seq=1&format=2
But Rob, $8.37 for 1900mAh is the best value - buy two, and get 3600mAh for $16.74.
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10831&cs_id=1083110&p_id=5868
And it comes in in red, black, and white. Either way, $35 for 800 mAh is a waste.
D'oh... I meant to say "3800 mAh for $16.74"
The Primo has the "made for iPod" and "works with iPhone" certification. I wouldn't trust these other Chinese cheap batteries with my iPhone. No way!
Does anyone know where I can get a data port to 3.5mm cable for the 5th generation Nano? Apparently they changed the pin alignments and my old one doesn't work now. No more tunes in the car now. I'd get a 3.5 to 3.5, but the sound is terrible. =(
Do these things work even if the phone has a case? I have an Encase brand case on mine that adds some bulk on the bottom of the phone.
@jbcarrillo:
But the thing is, the Primo is most likely "Made In China" too.
Plus, there are many, many reviews from people using the MonoPrice charger with their iPhones and it seems to be reliable.
@Vijay:
I see your point, but for me personally I would just prefer to carry one charger as opposed to two, even if it does have considerably less power. ;-)
i ike how the iphone says cingular
blood???
Would you all give this a thumbs up to purchase? I don't know to much about the backups for my 3gs but I do take 14 hour trips so I'm looking for something to last me around 10 hours.
Why is there some dirt on the iPod? Don't quite get it...
