RAmos W7 spotted blazing through Android
As much fun as it is seeing the RAmos W7 in the wild, all legit and everything, what's more exciting is seeing that Android-specific 600MHz Rockchip CPU in action again. This time it appears to be handling some pretty snappy web browsing to some fairly hefty pages, and then diving into what looks to be Flash video in an externalized, overlain player of some kind. The Android Archos 5 does a similar thing for media playback, but it's not plugged into the browser like this, and we really haven't seen many devices attain these sorts of browser speeds at this resolution. Sure, there's still plenty more OS to see, but it's good to see both of these products making a bit of good on their promises. Check out the video after the break.

Is the 2.0 version publicly available yet? Aside from Driod I mean.
Part of it was released to AOSP, the rest of it should be released very shortly as soon as they can iron out the kinks.
Perhaps.... and don't quote me on this.... this video was created before then?
Nah, that's crazy.
Pretty snappy, any ideas if this thing can run h.264 video, doesnt have to be 720p, will come in English and be able to run the apps from the Android Market?
Ive been looking for a media tablet thats not Apple/Windows Mobile/Crap propietary OS.
Yea it will. I have a ramos pmp with rockchip. It plays h264 720p anime fine. It even play crazy high frame rate one like Macross or Gundam.
Whoa Harold Ramos!
Will any products be released in 2010 that aren't running Android? Will my toaster be getting Android next (2.0, I hope, don't want my toaster to have only 1.6)?
A toaster with Android actually sounds kinda cool IMO.
Video been out since late October.
Archos 5 Internet Tablet with Android at 800mhz ARM Cortex A8 OMAP3440 has a faster browser.
I didn't see it blazing through Android. I saw it taking an age to load some news videos :-(
It isn't a final product. RAmos still has plenty of time to optimize it for retail release.
Are there any specs available for this thing yet besides the screen and the OS? It looks interesting.
I see that it reduces the backlight while playing video the same as HTC's WinMo Youtube. Do these people do any testing?
It will release at the end of Dec.
nice
I have seen android and liked it though

I certainly feel that the the winmo 6.5 on HTC Diamond 2 can really give the droid a run for its money. Consider this, its cheaper making it more consumer friendly and the OS, well it speaks for itself. The Lock screen function is something I like the most. You can view everything, your messages, your mised calls, etc upfront
