'Wink' USB flash drive: perfect for hockey moms, lipstick-laden pigs
Active Media Products isn't one to shy away from mildly ludicrous USB flash drive designs, but it may want to snag a lawyer on retainer for this one. Granted, there's at least a sliver of a chance that Sarah Palin was actually notified that her image would be used to market AMP's new "Wink" USB flash drive, but chances are she's being rudely introduced to the sobering truth just as we are. Hailed as the planet's smallest 16GB thumb drive, this waterproof slab of memory is also available in a few smaller sizes for those unconcerned with gaining political clout. It measures in at just 1.2- x 0.5- x 0.1-inches, or just marginally smaller than Little Diomede island (which you actually can see Russia from, amazingly enough). It's available now to inspire and encourage starting at $7.95 (2GB), though that 16 gigger we mentioned earlier will set you back $37.95.
P.S. - We didn't Photoshop this image, this is seriously Active Media Products' pitch for this product.

HAH!
Where did Wink get that backwards semi-colon?
@cdsfire what backwards semi-colon? This one? ;-) It's a forwards semi-colon.
I just want to say thank-you to Engadget for successfully posting a tech article involving a divisive political figure and not being partisan or ugly about it. However, I could not say the same for some of my fellow commenters or some other blogs for that matter.
I, for one, love Palin and appreciate the fact that she represents at least 40% of the United States population.
source:
mmm I love me a good looking conservative woman.
Now, what product were we talking about here?
I enjoyed this blog until you idiots had to let your hate-filled politics seep into the story. Why do you fear her so much?
Plenty of other tech site resources out there. You just lost a reader.
It isn't actually quite that bad, another tech blog whose name starts with G and ends with O is so bad that I tuned out months ago, they always demonized Conservatives. Another blog that is supposed to be for consumers also occasionally slams conservatives. I actually thanked Engadget for being at least tasteful, you should see what those other blogs have done.
you find nothing scary in the fact that palin was running to be in proximity of the button?
@(Unverified) lol bye!
This is awesome. The article is weeding out all the chaff!
we should all watch "The men who stare at goats" put it on our new 16gb flash drive and have a good laugh at those mentally unstable people who run our government.
Let's stick with tech news shall we? Leave the politics to CNN, NBC, FOX et. al.
Here's the thing, this article IS about a gadget, it is NOT about politics. The author, contrary to popular opinion, is not calling Palin a pig.
She might not be the brightest but I bet she can suck a golf ball thru a garden hose.... MILF!
I don't see where engadget did anything which might seem political or distasteful...the company who put this product and campaign together seems to just be doing something silly with a "personality's" image...which happens ALL THE TIME with folks inside and outside politics...they don't seem to be slamming her either. The people making comments are making this a political debate...not the website. Engadget often puts out posts which point out the absurd in the tech world...this is just another example...now knock it off you guys before I get out the fire hose... ;o)
Why is this woman still relevant? Non-news in my opinion.
yeah, well, um... not to start a shitstorm or anything, but...
PALIN USES WINDOWS!!!
Yikes. Just... yikes.
Oh crap, those words may have been unnecessary.
Just call her a excessive Liar, she has a major problem with that. Truth and facts don't mix with lipstick on a pig.
I just don't understand how she can sit in interviews and act like like others know she is lying on practically every topic.
Don't equate soccer moms with that woman, moms have feelings too you know.
Ugh Engadget writers are typical city liberals. Palin derangement syndrome. The more you hate on her, the more insulting and dismissive you are of her, and the more focus on her the more powerful she will become you stupid lefties. Same thing happened to Hillary Clinton and she came very close to becoming the President of the United States. If not for Obama, nothing would have stopped Hillary Clinton from being President right now.
UgH! Talk about bad photoshop skills..... :-\
