True Multi-Touch and Multi-Pen on large-format LCD
Multi-touch grows up: Evoluce announces innovative 47 inch multi-touch Full HD LCD for launch of Windows 7
Hallbergmoos, 30. October 2009. Large-format interactive LCD-screens enable collaborative work directly on the screen surface. Evoluce developed sensing technology for the first time reveals the full potential of multi-touch applications.
"Windows 7 launched at the end of October 2009. Our Evoluce ONE is launched too. The 47 inch multi-touch LCD supports not only Windows 7, but also a variety of other innovative multi-touch applications coded in Flash, C++, WPF or Silverlight. Our developed "Integrated-Through-Screen-Optics" (ITSO) technology enables true multi-touch and multi-pen applications, that can be controlled simultaneously by pen, finger, gesture and object recognition," said Wolfgang Herfurtner, CEO of Evoluce AG.
The comfortable multi-touch operating on the surface is achieved by a scratch-resistant coating. The screen has been designed for easy horizontal and vertical integration or can be a stand-alone device.
MIM, the in-house developed multi-touch input management tracking software, recognizes an unlimited number of simultaneous inputs ("true multi-touch"). The tracking data can be accessed via universal interfaces by the multi-touch application.
Evoluce ONE is available from Evoluce specialist dealers.

Evoluce ONE hands-on

what are you talking about? Did you ever see the movie Minority Report? when the movie came out they were talking about how multi-touch screens were already a reality (not in the form shown in the movie of course). This type of technology has been in development for years, even before your beloved iphone came out. Why don't you crawl back into your cave, troll, and make love to your iphone or yourself or give jobs a handjob for his revoluntionary ways.
Ooh... it's reproducing!
Hey Engadget, re-post this when it's affordable and or within 2 years of a store shelf.
I thought the exact same thing!
me too. i was like, "wow, its super sperm"
I am so SICK of these coffee touchscreen tables... give me some 3D holograms!!!
Who is this marketed towards? How many people have a 60" TV installed in their coffee table?
Better luck next time
Meh, all of what they were showing was just piggy backing on the touch systems introduced in windows 7, and those were inspired by the touch interaction systems of surface.. so what exactly did they make? a touch screen with legs?
Was I the only one who thought this looked like sperm fertilising an egg?
nope. we all have dirty minds.
I was thinking naughty just reading the headline.
Why does it feel that multitouch on anything but a phone seems kinda gimmicky. I mean how many times do I sit around just resizing and moving multiple photos? None... but how how many times do I see it done on every new mutlitouch product, 100% of the time.
Reality Check: My guess is that it's targeted towards businesses: bars and such, ...and sex education instructors.
haha i thought it was sperm too
The title of this post seemed unusually sexual for the morning.
The problem is when they resized the browser and hit another page on the site - the magnification level should stay the same, not shrink back to normal. You have to resize the page every time.
It does this on my WinMo Opera browser also and it sucks!
I've never seen a (non-rehersed) multi-touch demo which isn't full of multiple tries to do the same thing, because the demoer keeps missing the the thing they were trying to touch.
I'd think the resolution would need to be a lot higher than HD if you're going to be less than 2 feet from a screen that size...
I Think that It would better use the Windows Media Center to use the Music and videos..
do i really need to re size every web page i go to on that thing?
That ovum is being gang banged.
Look at the way people have to sit at this silly thing. To touch the middle of the screen, they have to get up off of their seat and that puts a huge strain on the back muscles of a typical overweight dweeb -- talk about poor ergonomics. And what happens when a Big Gulp gets spilled?
Anyone who thinks Surface is a great, breakthrough technology needs to have their head examined.
I reviewed both videos and their website. I see no mention of haptic feedback. Did I miss it?
This would really improve these types of interfaces, and address some of the "finding" issues people have with touch screens.
Better have thick glass and a touch over-ride function for my glass of Jack'n'Coke.
Cooliris will enjoy this publicity
How much it is different from Microsoft Surface???
MS Surface desk is working with rear projection and provides XGA resolution. Evo One is an LCD and Full-HD.
... and the Surface is Microsoft ... Evo One not :D
ummm, this is very nice.Does it include a 2010 hennesee 650hp Camaro in a package deal?
