It ain't flashy, but so long as you don't ever plan on having more than 1.5TB of junk to store on an
external hard drive,
Transcend's latest should do the trick. The StoreJet 35T promises average write speeds of 42MB/s, and the one-touch backup feature enables your mind to be at ease with the simplest of gestures. You'll also get intelligent backup scheduling, StoreJet Elite software that offers 256-bit AES file and folder encryption and... well, little else. Mum's the word on pricing and availability, but for those who find this one too rich for their blood, a 1TB model should be landing soon as well.
Looks like an Xbox.
First thing came into my mind when I first saw the image.
Will it come with the RRoD? God that's Ugly.
If it's not QNAP it's not a NAS worth having.
blue ring of death
so its an xbox that can run windows 7? cool!
From the picture I was hoping for a 360 Slim announcement.
Microsoft is going to kill the PS3 by putting Windows 7 on their newest xbox 360 slim. You heard it here folks.
@JCXgunrunna: Not without a blu-ray drive and making it not sound like a jet running in the room first.
Insert Red Ring of Death joke here.
Omg it works with windows 7, who would have thought.
I know it's the funniest thing ever. I first saw one of those "compatible with Windows Vista" stickers on the portable hard drive I bought. I laughed so hard. My sister still doesn't know why I thought that sticker was hilarious on a hard drive...
Are there any external hard drives that aren't compatible with Windows 7? Isn't that kind of redundant?
I'd stay away from these if they have Seagate drives inside...
Those are either nonexistent or so stupidly overpriced you couldn't hope to afford one.
Weird, I could have sworn I'd hit the reply button on the comment below this one. Oh well.
Happened to me on the Nokia switching to Maemo post. This comment system needs work.
@Shaka
Seagate ist gut!
@g00n
I was a victim to the 1.5TB Fail Drives I know :(
Anyone know a good external drive (1TB or higher) that is powered over USB, so I don't need a separate power cable?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136477
I don't know about good, but that's one USB External HDD that is 1TB.
And I forgot to add that the drive I mentioned is powered over USB.
But like the other guy said who mis-replied, this is 200 bucks for a 1 TB HDD. You can probably get a WD MyBook or a Seagate FreeAgent that's way less than 200 for more capacity.
First thing that comes to mind is WD or Seagate drive?
Oh snap! A blue LED slim 360!
My Seagate 1.5TB external is working fine. *prays to whatever god controls hard drives* I"m going to buy a Western Digital one as well. Just to be on the safe side.
BRoD, GRoD
At least we finally know who bought all those banned 360s off eBay.
OMG all i saw was the picture that looked like a 360 and 1.5 tb in the title and almost died
