A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
lets take it one step at a time....
Intel won't die, won't they?
Ok sooooo, it's an Nvidia ION without CUDA and GPU processing, and basic gaming compatibility, with DDR3 RAM which it won't even take advantage off.
Why not just the ION now or wait for the ION2?
Still waitin on them dual core Nano's.
*Kicks VIA in the balls*
OW MY BALLS!
I've been keeping cool for one hot minute, Darren!
Completely agree. And I thought the old comment system was bad...
cool.
I never thought the comment system could get worse, but it has xD
Having the replies hidden is such a pain in the arse.
As was just said, it stops people from hijacking your comment if you happened to be one of the 'FIRST!!!' replies. I hated getting replies that had nothing to do with my comment, just because it was on the front page.
...and still with the Times New Roman. Jeez Louise. It's simple. Serifed fonts like TNR are difficult to read on computer screens. Web design 101. There's a designer out there who says, when referring to the use of TNR on web pages, "Times new roman should never ever be used, and even then that's stretching it." C'mon guys.
Yep, that and the sudden arrival of Italics ... EVERYWHERE is doing my head it.
Yeah, Times New Roman is a faux pas. Using italics plus TNR is every web designer's nightmare. That's all they need to fix and I don't know why they are so adamant about keeping this font. It gives headaches...
Fudzilla is ballz! They are always twisting their words to make them sound like propaganda. They always manipulate the words to agree with their opinions, and have made pretty ridiculous claims in the past. I wouldn't trust a word they say.
Remember that time they said AMD would be releaseding SB800 series around this time of year but never showed? I'm skeptical of Fudzilla now.
I guess I'll wait for Sony to drop this onto the X Series.
You are going to wait over two years for a laptop? My god. This is a long term plan. Go buy a netbook and upgrade it in two years.
At least in the new one the replies finally work again.
In the old one it was more or less a game of chance.
I like it this way. Now you don't see people trying to get to the top of the comment list by replying to the first commentor.
ME ME ME ME MY COMMENT ME ME ME ME MY OPINION ME ME MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
So what exactly is supposed to be better about this? Just DDR3 support and 32nm?
well smaller means cheaper, and less heat. Less heat means you can clock it higher, it also means you can go dual core with taking up less space then you normally would....
It's always good news when they go down in "nm"...
True, just wondering if there were any architectural changes like moving the memory controller like Core i* compared to Core 2 ****.
An those stars aren't me cursing, just blanks because there are a few different Core 2's.
And I bet it'll need a new socket, too?
of course it will need a new socket, it's intel....
Anyways, i really hope windows 8 supports arm, cause we really need competition...
I found that to be part of the charm.
I'm waiting for an AMD lawsuit.
Seriously... 2011? Who gives a crap, Intel. By then this entire project will have changed completely.
well 32nm tech was to begin production this winter however the tech is not ready and 40nm tech was still buggy if you follow tech news you'll find a lot of us do kinda give a crap about it it also means the atom chips are being planned to be around for a while longer rather than switch into a different chip architecture (mainly cuz of the 32nm fab problems)
Jesus Christ, you should be more worried about learning to form some semblance of a decent sentence before you worry about nanotechnology.
lol poor thing you can only bitch and whine when you can't figure something out, it must be sad being you
This is the worst Engadget has looked/felt in the history of the site.
Yay, Sandy Bridge and, what, Cedar Trail. Fun names.
I'm still using Merom.
And please change the commenting system, at least back to what it used to be!
Netbooks are going to get a lot more interesting... (I hope)
I completely agree - the colour choice is awful, tons of screen real estate is wasted, I hate having to click view replies and your + and - buttons force IE8 back to the top of the page.
Conspiracy buff much ? u one of those who believe technology is deliberately holden back by greedy capitalists ?
So you think that major product releases just happen to come within weeks of a competitor releasing something new? If AMD releases a new chip or chip feature and Intel counters within days or weeks with a new product that Intel made up that new feature in the time frame or rushed something that was no where near production out the door? I guarantee you companies will sit on something if they have a new product in the pipe that they don't need to release yet. If you are dominating a market, why waste your ace in the hole. If you think your competitor is going to release something soon that will come close to or surpass your current offerings. Then when they do you still their thunder by smacking them back down a peg or two right after they launch their product.
Its hard to argue that Intel is dominating the netbook CPU market, there isn't a whole lot of incentive for them to push the envelope in that market.
