The Engadget Show - 003: Drew Bamford, Joystiq's Chris Grant, Adamo XPS, and lots of game demos
This is a big one, folks. The new installment of The Engadget Show is jam-packed with goodness. First up, Josh sits down with HTC's director of user experience Drew Bamford to discuss Android, Sense, Windows Mobile and a whole lot more. Then we've got a charming little segment where Paul and Josh go hunting around NYC for KIRFs, and Chris Grant joins the gang on stage for a dissection of the holiday gaming situation... and some demos where the gang gets to show off their totally radical moves. Seriously, Josh and Nilay have a DJ Hero battle, and Paul Miller skates (but doesn't die) in Tony Hawk: Ride. Don't miss this one -- it might just be the best yet! Full video is after the break.

we want the mutharaping HD2 review!
and let me change my pass :(
@manifest3r
seriously...what in the hell is holding the HD2 review up!!!
http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_hd2-review-418.php
I love how the show is 851.5MB in the itunes store. Gota take it to the man when you got no cap
@(Unverified) You mean "stick it to the man?"
Haleluia!
@newjaruz do mean hallelujah, or is this another word entirely? :)
@glenskey
lol
Yeah great lighting, finally! Thanks ;)
finally, i can watch :)
I must say there are a few things I found that made this show the best so far.
Lighting: MUCH BETTER!
Appearance: Very classy Josh...better then those creepy pants...*shudders*
I haven't watched the rest of the show...but so far so good. :)
@Stereotype - Agreed. The lighting is 100% better this time. Loved the first half (see my comment below, the download isn't working for me correctly).
I agree. The lighting was so much better. It seemed like the heads of Paul and Chris were still in darkness at times . . . but overall, much better than it has been.
I know wm6.5 has a lot of visual stuff to troll about but
Excel is not meant to be pretty
For the love of gadgets, let your guests finish speaking Josh.
@One Love
Read my freakin' mind.
@One Love
Exactly what i was going to post. Ream my freakin' mind.
@One Love
I think Josh likes to hear himself talk, at the cost of everyone else.
@One Love
Couldn't agree more.. Topolsky's narcissism tends to get in the way of his interviewing skills just a tad :) Let your guests finish ffs!
he wants his job :P
Love The Engadget Show. Josh, your way of presenting the show is just awesome. Keep it up, this is a winner.
This is definitely the best one yet. It's obvious you guys did a lot of work making a great show. Josh, great job on the interview, especially getting him to bring those slides. Keep it up!
Ok so Steve Ballmer is not important enough for you to dress up, but this guy is?. On the other hand I love the show. I bet it's going to be very polished before you get Steve Jobs on the set.
@Drago: jizz before you know it
@Drago He'll never come on the show.
@Drago Gods don't talk to mere men, even Josh, even if he thinks he is/is a demigod.
It doesn't happen. Ask Anand of Anandtech (yes, that one) about talking to Apple. They don't do it.
Ok, Steve Balmer is a raving f-ing lunatic why would he dress up? He could have come onstage in a tu-tu with a strapon on his forehead and Steve would not have even noticed... He's got all the crazy in a $3,500 suit that still looks like a bag of A$$ a room can handle.
I want a HD2 running Android on any carrier except Verizon.
@(Unverified)
I want an HTC snapdragon android running on every carrier including Verizon
I'm kind of curious. As much as I would like to personally attend the engadget show, does anyone besides me find it not worth it to view the video.
@ossger: I wish they would have uploaded this earlier (or streamed it), but I still find it worth watching.
To each his own.
@ossger
I'm with you on that one. Committing a large chunk of time just to hear a rehash of the stuff I read about every day is too daunting. Maybe if they segmented the show by subject and put up several videos instead of just one.
Anyone else having issues downloading the HD version? When the download starts it says the file is 1.1GB, but the first time it only downloaded ~450MB of it, the second only ~125MB.
I'm using Firefox 3.5.5 on Snow Leopard. Any ideas?
@MRCUR Downloading HD for me isn't working either. A second attempt worked though its crazy slow. I simply canceled it after it was downloading at 60KB/s.
@MRCUR I too am having issues however I am using windows 7 not OSX but the version of firefox is the same.
@MRCUR i was downloading the regular version and i kept having problems with it 3 times on firefox in ubuntu, but now it seems fine
I finally got it to start downloading and stay downloading using Firefox (3.5.5 again) on my T61 running Windows 7. Of course it still has another 2 hours or so to go, but I'm guessing it's worth it.
@MRCUR i had issues with the download as well. once it did finally it crapped out at 11ish minutes and i had to go download the itunes version to view the rest of the show
@MRCUR Seems to be fixed. I'm downloading at 2.5 MB/s now.
lovely pink eyeshadow josh!
@glenskey
yup that is exactly what I meant. Just to lazy to look for the correct spelling ... so no, not a new word. Haven't been in church for a while
lol
I went to the last 2. Definitely going to the next one =]
Holy broken downloads Batman!
Nice to see Chris on the show
I actually liked the lighting in the older episodes, this lighting is more professional, but bland.
Loving the HTC interview. I know Sense is their baby and blah, blah, blah but I would kill a man for Sense on the Droid.
If this is the best one yet I'm glad I didn't see the other ones.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say that none of the Engadget "staff" have girlfriends.
@Nerdtalker
Sure lol
You guys should consider torrents as an alternative to download the HD version because 37.6 KB/s is not working for me...
iPod download through the direct link and iTunes will start but not finish. Please fix.
