Xbox 360 Elegant Edition shows Microsoft how it's done

You know, we've pretty much all been enamored with the Zune HD's industrial design, but one unintended consequence for Microsoft was that it made its console look even more childish and toylike. It was inevitable, then, that a group of industrious Swedes would take up arms against this injustice and right the world with their Elegant Edition mod. Featuring three 120mm cooling fans, an aesthetic borrowed straight from the 1980s, and absolutely no shame about its bulk, this mod is cooler than the original in both the literal and colloquial sense. We'll accept no arguments to the converse. Better still, if you're willing to part with some cold hard cash, these fellas will build one for you too. We've got a few less glamorous shots of the redressed box after the break.

Surely just sticking the Xbox 360 internals inside of a HTPC case could produce something better looking than this. The Lian Li case for the Xbox 360 is nicer than this.

this is elegant? my gosh has standards dropped nowadays, i mean it looks like a BOX. litterally, like what nsome other ppl have said it looks like my old VCH player. simply drop dead ugly.
Even MS's design wins it hands down =/

There is nothing elegant or cool about this.
It is just boxy (and not in s designer, cool way).
The X status indicator destroys even the boxiness. There is no breathing space around the X. It already wears on me with a sense of unease (the exact opposite of elegant).

The design look of the xbox 360 is the nicest out of all three major consoles.I grant you it isn't the coolest design, but I believe it is a design that works in the most environments.

Never been a fan of the PS3 case design (especially when it is laid horizontal). The Wii is not bad and while not entirely interesting does show how a simple geometric shape (angled box) is done.

This "elegant" version is simply ugly

It would be sick if MS would push console mobility along the lines of it being designed like a laptop, so we can all have our lan parties without having to port around yours and your neighbors tele'.
This one went backwards....more like Gorilla-Box.
