@(Unverified) also i found some funny stuff in their FAQ about excessive use.
Many excessive users consume more data than a business-class T1 line running at full capacity in a month.
WELL THEN STOP CALLING IT CABLE INTERNET
@(Unverified)
T1 lines are like 1.5mbit, well at least at my work our T1 is slow as hell
I have docsis 3.0 cable modem which can hit 100mbit at night I can hit that bandwidth cap very quickly
@(Unverified) I've hit 29mbit max and that was the night I downloaded 100gb and uploaded the same amount the following day.... there is no way they could have the bar that low if I pay for 22mbit I better have the option to have that running 24/7 the entire month. I don't pay 80 a month to browse youtube...
This needs to happen everywhere. Especially with caps on data.
Ha... They called me last month and said "You're over the limit", "By how much" I ask? "Um, around 2000 gigabytes".
From what I heard if you "upgrade" to the business line you get unlimited, but not sure if they'll do that for residential? Shouldn't be any different.. I was happily doing ~600GB/month for a couple years with no warnings until I discovered Usenet.. and caught Comcast's attention.
@kYing
you can get business class no problem. jsut establish some dummy Corp .inc and they will give you a business class connection
@kYing
business class will also unblock port 80...most residential connections have it blocked
i would jsut like to remind everyone that over seas, such as in south korea a 100/100 connection is only $20 a month with no caps....comcast=epic fail
Going by that logic, every US (and Canadian) ISP is #FAIL.
@MRCUR
that's because they are...the U.S. is very much so behind in terms of infrastructure when it comes to the backbone. The country that helped start the internet has some of the worst connection speeds at horrible prices
Bandwidth limits cut both ways. If you're short, download some more, just so you can 'stick it to the man'...
