Nokia N900 impressively demos WebGL 3D graphics
We're not sure anyone out there needs any more proof that the Nokia N900 is powerhouse, but just in case you still had doubts, check this video of a WebGL-enabled Firefox build smoothly rendering some complex 3D models on Espoo's "internet tablet with phone capabilities." It's pretty impressive stuff, especially considering WebGL is still being standardized and it hasn't gotten beyond Firefox nightlies on the desktop yet. Check it after the break.

Sigh.... Maemo seems to be progressing much faster than Android, but still doesn't have the support of the latter.
If you are not sure whether to go for N900 or something else..
I seriously recommend checking this out
bit.ly/N900-and-its-secret-killer-feature
It might not full fill your basic phone features like profiles etc.
The Phone part of this device is not yet that strong with features so dont expect it to match with other matured platforms.
@Satz
http://bit.ly/N900-and-its-secret-killer-feature I mean
@Satz well, they never portrayed this device as a "phone device"
If you want to get a phone for talking, this isn't the device for you.
but it's nothing a firmware or an app couldn't fix :]
is it just me or do the article say that this is this only for that phone cas im pritty sure that would work with firefox daily builds
@rehaby
on pc
@rehaby "does", "because", "I'm", "pretty"
i own the N900. it is a very capable device. im sure this is just the beginning for new and cool shit for this tablet/phone.
ATT 3G bands please!!!
Tmobile's network is a joke in most of the country, their 3G is even more sparse (solid edge tho....). I've never owned a Tmobile phone that could get reception inside a house here in Tampa.
I hear all this talk about Tmobile having HSPA+ .... grats to anyone living in one of the dozen of so cities you can even get Tmobile 3g.
Believe me, I'm no ATT fanboi, only reason I use them is I get a free unlimited everything (including true unlimited data) corporate SIM to put in anything but an Iphone (so I use my Iphone as a MID and use Joikuspot from my 5800 to tether the Iphone).
Nokia phone's are like a fuggin swiss army knife.... Elegant? Not always... Resourceful? Oh yeah
I don't get the news... the webGL stuff (http://blog.vlad1.com/) only provides a interface between the browser and openGL ES, thus breaking down the abstraction layer and allowing you to code openGL ES using javascript. all they did, was making there browser capable of using webGLs interface.
all current phones (iphone, androids) use openGL for their complex 3d drawing.. I don't see the urge to have it in my browser. games are fullscreen anyway, and to much text around such "render views" just confuses. another failed attempt from nokia, proclaiming their devices as power horses *sigh*
There is something inherently wrong about watching a webGL video with a flash video player...
