Twoddler lets your toddler twitter and summon the Fail Whale #cute
So you think your baby's all Twitter-ready with that Kickbee while chilling in the womb? Nah, only practice makes perfect, so the folks at Belgium's Hasselt University came up with the Twoddler: a hacked Fisher-Price activity board with buttons linked to predefined Twitter messages. Obsessive parents can put photos of themselves on the buttons, so that whenever those buttons are hit the Twoddler tweets something like "@mommy I miss you." We like this idea, but then again you'll never know if it's just someone else's kids bashing the buttons -- you'll still feel good anyway. Watch some Twoddler action after the break.

What is the sodding point?
@SamUK Well at first I thought, tweets could a toddler's toy would create would be inane (horsie! WHEEE!), then I realized they wouldn't be much more inane than normal tweets.
@SamUK Teaches toddlers to use a rotary phone dial so they are prepared when they are teens.
Fisher-Price sucks. Should be running Android.
Sign into twitter...
"You have 3,323 new tweets"
All from a hyper 2 year old.
No thanks.
@LAY
lol, can you imagine if you subscribed through sms? your phone would be an absolute wreck.
@SaintAndrew Worse wreck without free text messaging.
Oh god, think of the horror on the parent's face when they see the phone bill.
think of the ..."other" application-able "toys"...

"Vibrator dead. Get home NOW"
It's shit like this, PS3 integration, etc. that overload Twitter with truly useless information. Now I have something clearly in my mind when Twitter tells me the server is overloaded.
@Martin C
I wouldn't mind seeing some of your tweets for comparison.
'Developing basic motor skills' 5 minutes ago from Twoddler
'Pooped myself' 2 minutes ago from Twoddler
'Crying about anything and everything' less than a minute ago from Twoddler
@conscious sorry that was from ashton kutcher's twitter.
@conscious
"Crying about anything and everything' less than a minute ago"
From Glenn Becks twitter. (Sorry, it was just too easy...)
the horror
This is hilarious. I WANT!
not cool.
sounds quasi dirty at first glance....100% marketable to idiots...
It's not like the toddlers' tweets are going to be any different. It's all mindless babble
@PATRICKmcnicholl
But now it's predefined mindless babble
I would say that's a huge improvement.
@PATRICKmcnicholl

Have you used Twitter?

It certainly sounds like he has.
They ruined that awesome toy with twitter?
I loved that toy, although I never understood why the ball (I think the other side of it was yellow) and the green and white cylinder didn't rotate on the same axis.
They don't make toys like they used to.
@writeinC They did it so you couldnt lean/step on it and fall forward, like a rolling belt kinda (if you are babby this is easy to happen)
That toy is the perfect size!
Perfect to smash over head of the greasy exec who thought this up...
I live in Belgium. Should I be ashamed about this now? :P
Twitter is everything thats wrong with our instant-gratification, narcissistic, celebutard society.
I made a poop

Just when I thought the idea of Twitter couldn't get any stupider.
I think I remember having something similar in the late 70's.....
They are laughing at the comments, on this post, all the way to the bank. I suppose they don't waste their free time in comments sections?
This is totally wrong why would you want this
When I have children, they WILL have one of these. /twitterwhore
this is stupid... along with Twitter... in general
wow... scary thing is that i REMEMBER that toy from my childhood! I can almost hear the noise that the spinner in the upper right corner made!
ah.... hard to imagine what that was like almost 30 years ago...
This actually compliments Twitter very well. Short bursts of primitive communication that toddlers are well capable off. Levels the playing between a US senator and my 2 year old. Nice.
The headline was hilarious. I'm still giggling.
Aww, I used to have one of those activity boards. I remember having my mind blown when I saw my friends and it was almost exactly the same except it was more colorful. I thought I had the only version of this toy.
