Cowon V5 HD PMP turns up in ad ahead of launch

We're not quite sure if this is an actual teaser ad or one that just slipped out ahead of the proper launch, but it looks like the brief commercial after the break is the first anyone has seen of Cowon's new V5 HD PMP. Unfortunately, the ad doesn't offer much in the way of actual details, although it does appear that the PMP boasts a reasonably large touchscreen, which may or may not actually be HD. Haven't had any problems with that on the S9. I did hear the O2 suffered from a terrible stock firmware.

@Erdbeerkuchen let me introduce you to Archos. Archos is hands down the king of awesome-but-buggy PMP's my S9 and my D2 were both quirky, but they were stable. My archos 404 and 605? dont get me started. (for the record, I loved all 4 of those players, and miss all of them dearly)

yeah, because there are so many phones out that actually have halfway decent sound quality, not to mention video playback. As much as I like converting EVERYTHING for an iPod, its nice to just drag and drop whatever you want to a Cowon.

I like chinese players and have some of them at home, but this is what I have been waiting for recently -> a cowon version of a hd pmp

I believe that there is 1080p support, because cowon often uses telechips prozessors and right now some chinese players will come out with such chips that are capable of 1080p.

Also the cowon o2 was able to play 720p with a certain format, so why not 1080p?

These PMPs will continue to get crushed by the Touch until they can get WI-FI on them.
