Optima OP5-E resurfaces with English OS, gets lengthy video review

By now, you're sufficiently aware that the Optima OP5-E is the first non-Nokia MID to arrive with a Maemo-based operating system. In fact, you've already seen what this bugger looks like on video. What you probably haven't seen, however, is a finalized version of the handheld for the US market, but all that's about to change if you head on past the break and mash play. Oh, and there's even an unboxing gallery down in the source link -- you know, if a 13 minute video review just doesn't quite cut it.

@PENGADGET, Maemo project is sponsored by Nokia, and surely Nokia has a huge say in it, but it's open source and basically anyone can use it. And by the looks of it, in this case it's Maemo 4, not Maemo 5 that is on N900.

I know this guy from the $80 Chinese laptop.... He's got a very good reputation of being the first to review crappy Chinese products. I don't care how cheep this gets, I can never buy it over a Nokia product.

You're doing it wrong. That review was just painful to watch. "3.5 megapixel" claim is off by .3 digits. "But but Its better than an N900 Bigger screen and ummm bigger screen and more features like bigger screen plus its cheaper." Poor guy can't even play solitaire right. And did he just say that Afghanistan video is LIVE? lol How much are they paying him for this?

On another note I haven't played with linux in ages and I'm shocked to see how easy it is to install new software here....and some of those icons look awfully familiar. I had no idea they made itunes for linux....

That is why Apple can't sue them; because its "Almost". If it was identical then that would be a different story.
But maybe my eye is buggin me; but it don't look anything like the iphone to me. There is not home button in the front, and it is not as sleek as the iphone.
