Wireworld's Platinum Starlight HDMI cable is only $1,000, better than your HDMI cable
You idiot. Where did you buy those cables? Walmart? You probably think you're getting the whole 1080p, don't you! Boy, you couldn't be more wrong. What the big box doesn't want you to know, with their cheap-ass $150 cables is that there are, um, waves and some, uh... electromagnetic spectrats. And they eat your pixels! Yeah, that's right! Pixel-eating EM spectrats! Not even making this stuff up. How much did you spend on that TV? $1,000? You did buy that $1,800 power cable from Furutech, right? Well, don't you think you should spend at least that much on the all-important cables that are going to funnel the dynamic 1080p transmissions from your Blu-ray player to your TV? Here, try this Platinum Starlight HDMI cable from Wireworld. It has a patent-pending DNA Helix conductor design formed by the gods themselves out of 24 solid silver conductors. Hell, $1,000 is probably a bargain for one of these one meter cables. Your eyes are worth it, after all. You're welcome.

Take THAT Monster Cable!!
@Locuus
Wait next week Monster will come out with there $2000 cable made from gypsy tears
@Locuus
Hahahaha, I was JUST about to say that!!!! :D
@Locuus
Pshhh these guys got NOTHING on Audioquest Everest speaker cable!
http://www.noiseaddicts.com/2008/11/most-expensive-speaker-cable-world-audioquest-audiophile/
@naz lmao this is rich
@naz
Nah, they'll just file a lawsuit because they overpriced their cables even MORE.
@Indefinite Implosion
Exactly.
@Locuus
SO THIS IS MEGA TERA HEXA CLASS HDMI CABLE I HAVE EVER SEEN !!!!!!!
WHERE CAN I ORDER IT FOR 30 QUID ? :D
@Locuus
even a $1-2 hdmi will do exactly the same job, coz hdmi is digital. I've got multiple hdmi sources hooked up to my hdtv, through an hdmi switch, coz I'm running out of hdmi ports lol:

If you don't know by now: www.monoprice.com
@hastings , awesome suggestion for monoprice, i was one of the few who didn't know. Thanks a ton, Ive been looking for a web site that sold accessories for cheap!
@hastings monoprice doesn't seem to be bad, but (unless i'm blind) there doesnt seem to be any HDMI 1.4 cables. in fact, i don't think there are many HDMI 1.4 cables. I think WireWorlds is just trying to capitalize on the new specification by making a rather exhuberant product...
time to milk money out of rich folk.
@Vylen HDMI 1.4 is the protocol. Cables are currently either certified as Standard/category 1 or High Speed/category 2. Similar to distinctions between cat 5, cat 5e, and cat 6 it's 99% testing and most cables will work interchangeably.
@brontide yes, i know its just a protocol.. its why i said specification.. however, while HDMI 1.3 cables work with the 1.4 specification they don't seem to support the HDMI Ethernet Channel... look it up...
@Vylen If you read their posting on their site they've got 1.4 on the way - says it as soon as you go to the site if you read the paragraph that they have about it
@MJGAMER 1991 XBL
Throwing a tiger woods joke in to a ridiculously expensive cable post? BRILLIANT SIR, I APPLAUD YOU!
@MJGAMER 1991 XBL
I think you missed the associative rule somewhere in there.
wow people are stupi all they need is a cable from mono price or a 24.99 dynex cable. i refuse to sell people monster cables.
@danhawk911
Given the prices at monoprice, I would never even recommend dynex cables to anyone. Still ridiculously overpriced.
@danhawk911
I'm sorry... a $24.99 cable?? That's way too much. They are like $6 at MonoPrice.
@danhawk911
$6? not even. i got my 8' HDMI cable for about $4.50, not including shipping.
@maveric101 I happened to get a 4' HDMI cable from amazon for $.09. Not kidding, and it wasnt used.
@danhawk911 I've bought nothing but those one cent cables from amazon, and never had a single problem.
Same here, got a few HDMI cables from amazon at 75 cents each. They work great. And why wouldn't they, they have metal in them and are covered with something other than tissue paper, that's about all you need.
Well screw Mono....sign me UP!!!!
Is that cable strong enough to hang someone from marketing?
@(Unverified)
Probably, but you're not going to be able to do much hanging with 1 meter of cable. Better grab the $5,000 version for that one.
@Vexorg
At least you could use it to strangle them. Jason Bourne style.
@(Unverified) With one of our patented cables you could strangle an elephant while enjoying your favorite 1080p movies.
Awesome. Nothing says signal quality like a carbon-fiber connector shroud. Because if it makes racecars faster, it must make TV pixels faster.
-Taylor
@Taylor Yes Taylor
I think the most ridiculous addition I've ever seen is the "Gold Plated Toslink" cables. Yes, the outside of the connector is plated. It boggles the mind that some people are *THAT* clueless.
@brontide
[facepalms]
@brontide I don't really think that's dumb. While you might see it that way, the marketing people who came up with it are geniuses. Remember when gold-plated USB cables came out? Retailers did everything they could to push them as better than regular steel, so the average consumer believes it. I bet you they also have no idea how TosLink works, and so believe it affects them, too.
Wow, what a truly horrible idea. I love having this conversation with people who buy the $35 HDMI cables at Best Buy...
Me: "You don't need to spend that much - go to monoprice and get it for $4."
Him: "Yeah, but this is gold-plated and it preserves the signal better."
Me: "No it doesn't"
Him: "Does, too."
Me: "It's digital, dumbass. It's 1's and 0's. They either get there or they don't - there's really no in between."
Him: "Yeah, well, I'm doing it just to be safe. The *expert* at Best Buy recommended it."
Me: "You mean the expert that makes a commission off your sale."
Him: "Yes, that one."
@(Unverified) best by employees don't get commission. Mangers and supervisors get monthly bonuses if the stores hit the revenue goals. And best buy mobile employee get bonuses for hitting activation goals for the month. It is so sad that a lot of sales floor thinks by getting the mangers wallet fatter it will get them promoted usually never happens that all about who you know and not what you know.
@danhawk911 I worked there 5-6 years ago. Back then at my store, if the accessory numbers weren't high enough, people started getting in danger of getting fired.
So, no, it's not commission, but people trying to keep their jobs.
@jhoff80
Agreed, but I don't take it personally. It's called "SALES". So, just be informed....
@(Unverified) Those people are probably fed up of a complete stranger walking up to them in best buy then lecturing them on what to buy.
@(Unverified) If that's so, then why listen to the guy with the blue shirt? That person is also a complete stranger.
@(Unverified) Where in Best Buy are there $35 HDMI cables? I haven't seen any for less than $100. :-p
@fumjum New Insignia 9' HDMI Cables for 39.99. Dynex 6' cables for 29.99. Don't buy the Dynex cables, for the love of god. Used two before, both ends broke off in tv's input. They make some decent small tvs though. Check out the 32" LCDs.
@JDM
There employed there....you are not.
Ooohhhhh.... pretty! What kind of nonsense could they possibly be using in their cables to get the price that high? Platinum core wire? Plus a 1500% luxury-dumbass markup?
Monoprice. The only place to shop.
WireWorld rushes packaging change with this on the front:

@SiXiam "Your eyes are worth it, after all" - Paul Miller, engadget.com
@SiXiam As Mr. Chappelle would likely attest, there are no better headphones in which to drop the beat into than Dr. Dre's "highly anticipated" Beats.
Is there a website with the benchmarks to see if there is packet loss (or whatever equivalent) on the cheap vs. expensive cables? Is consumer reports on top of this one?
@JS it can happen, but only at really, really long lengths of cable (i'm not sure, but it must be like 20 feet or so). at 1 meter there is zero chance of that happening. buy the cheapest cable you can find:
www.monoprice.com
@maveric101
There is no packet loss equivalent with digital cables. Interference is theoretically possible, but rarely (if ever) a real issue. The primary issue is signal strength. The longer the cable, the lower the signal strength at the receiving device (TV). If the strength is too low it can not be properly utilized. This means no picture or an intermittent picture but never a degraded picture.
@JS
On a short (2 meter) run it usually doesn't matter. On longer lengths it can. Here is an article from Gizmodo a few years back that actually tested cables.
