Nokia 5235 Comes With Music and a low price in Q1 2010
The 5230 has only recently made its way out to stores, but that hasn't stopped Nokia from fashioning a KIRFy sort of successor for it. Meet the Nokia 5235, a spec for spec copy of its elder brother, including the same 3.2-inch touchscreen, 2 megapixel camera, and Symbian S60 5th edition. We thought we could spot a tiny difference in the materials being used, but otherwise you really are looking at the exact same handset. Your wallet would tell the difference, though, as the 5235 has a pre-tax and pre-subsidy price of €145 ($214), which is more than €100 cheaper than the previously noted 5230 CWM variant -- in other words, Nokia is renaming its CWM model and chopping the price nicely. Why, we don't know, but when is the first quarter of 2010.

Normal Nokia pricing for Finland: 145€ + 22% VAT, makes about 249€ irl.

MATH FAIL.
that looks thick.... :(
@mocax
I'll take thick and narrow (which is easy to use with one hand) over wide and thin (which is more difficult to use with one hand). But YMMV...
You can't have both thin and narrow, because:
1. the battery would suck (it would be too small)
2. it would cost a lot to produce, making the phone more expensive
@mocax It's small tho, the big photo makes it look thick but it's smaller than an iPhone.
@mocax
That's what she said.
@NikAmi I don't even know if I want to down-rank you for the nerve, or to up-rank you for the audacity.
Right, why do they keep chopping prices? It's been going on for ages... and not only Nokia does that, everyone, I say, EVERYONE!
Why don't they just RISE them for a change? Beats me.
@gp
what?
Hey Nokia, still with the vertical power and signal meters, huh? Stubborn!

And what exactly is the problem with that?
You can have 6 bars to show more granularity versus 3 tiny bars on a small icon?

i like them
I'll pass, again.
"The iPhone 3G has only recently made its way out to stores, but that hasn't stopped Apple from fashioning a KIRFy sort of successor for it. "
Bahaha! I like it :D
I don't get it. Why did they use a higher model number to denote a stripped down version?
So we have..
5800 - The standard model
5530 - Smaller, UMTS-less version of 5800
5230 - Wi-Fi-less, camera downgrade version of 5800
5235 - GPS-less version of 5230, the bare bones
@ToniCipriani
lol. nokia model numbers have never made any sense.
your 1st 3 examples... just coincidences.
take for example the 6650 released last year.
there was already a nokia 6650 released in 2003.
they are 2 completely different phones. just a reused model number.
and the upgrade to the 9500 was the e90.
what a downgrade that mustve been from 9500 to 90!
e, n, x, c or whatever letter is the only thing that really matters anymore. but those dont even help actually. the 6790 isnt a n/e series phone and it has a qwerty and symbian.
so who know. they just make it up as they go. it would be nice if there were some order to it. but there isnt. just have to memorize them.

i was confused about the 6650 too. around 2004 there was the 6600 whose successor was the 6630 and it's successor was the 6680, i thought the 6650 was one of that family of phones
and i didn't even know there was another completely different 6650 before that :D
btw the 6680's successor was the N70 making things even more confused
but it's ok, nobody really buys phones based on what they are called. except in the US where you use those silly non-numerical names
I thought Nokia was Symbian all the way? Now they're pushing Android too?
@shanoboy
what the...
@Endadget
Yeah, what the.
@shanoboy
rofl. i just dont even know what to say to that one.
@shanoboy
what is this i don't even
@shanoboy
I thought it was Nokia putting out an Android phone. I was confused because they own Symbian or at least part of it.
Excuse me for being a dumbass.
@shanoboy Still, can't understand how you came up with Android by reading this article..
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
I paid $24 CAD for a new Nokia 3500 classic. another $6 to unlock the BB5.
This phone probably has the same crap 2MP camera mine has. Actually it is probably the same phone wxcept this has a touch screen. So why the mark up?
funny thing is this phone and N97 flagship uses same processor :)
can we get a n905 with att 3g and $100 cheaper too while ur at it nokia?

I have asked all my friend who's got such cheap Nokia phones Comes with Music.
All my friends complaining about that phones - the OS is awful - it can stuck and froze just in middle of listening music or right after the conversation.
