@Proud Japanese, that would bi ludicrous - their diverse lineup is what keeps them on top of the mobile market, there is a phone/smartphone/MID for everyone in Nokia's portfolio. Yes, maintaining such a large number of different devices is probably a major PITA for Nokia, not to mention R&D, but it has its own merits. What they need is a unified development platform so that the 3rd party developers don't need to target a specific device, and that's why Nokia bought Trolltech and is going for QT. If all goes well, in a year or two you'll be able to write an app that will require minimal to no-porting work at all for your app to work on most of the Nokia devices.
